Electric Fields missed Eurovision Final by just 6 points

Plus details on the Australian jury and how they voted.

Electric Fields only missed out on qualifying for the Eurovision Song Festival but a small but crucial 6 points.

Australia inished 11th in Semi Final One with 41 points with Serbia 10th with 47 points.

The results were:

  3. Ireland – 124
  4. Lithuania – 119
  5. Luxembourg – 117
  6. Cyprus – 67
  7. Finland – 59
  8. Portugal – 58
  9. Slovenia – 51
  10. Serbia – 47
  11. Australia – 41
  12. Poland – 35
  13. Moldova – 20
  14. Azerbaijan – 11
  15. Iceland – 3

Also revealed following the Final yesterday morning were the Australia’s Eurovision 2024 Jury:

  • Singer-songwriter Alfie Arcuri “Lady in the Lake,” winner / Australia Decides 2019
  • Musician Mason Watts, ‘Growing Pains’ / ‘In Your Arms’
  • Journalist Jane Albert, regular contributor to the Weekend Australian, the Sydney Morning Herald, Broadsheet (Sydney), Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue Australia, Limelight and Wish magazine.
  • Chief Curator at the National Film and Sound Archive Meagan Loader
  • Singer-songwriter Mia Rodriguez ‘Psycho’, ‘Best New Artist’ 2021 Rolling Stone Australia Awards

Australian Jury votes:
12 points – Ireland
10 points – Switzerland
8 points – Croatia
7 points – Italy
6 points – Cyprus
5 points – Sweden
4 points – United Kingdom
3 points – Finland
2 points – Luxembourg
1 point – Ukraine

  1. For a country like Australia I genuinely think it is better to have the mini-victory of juuust missing out on the final, rather than just squeezing through and then getting the indignity of zero public televote points which may well have happened had we progressed.

    11th in a televote-only semi is not a horrific result for us and if we are given the chance to continue I’m sure we’ll bounce back.
