Paul Kent charged

NRL 360 presenter was arrested at Newtown Police Station today and charged with affray.

NRL 360 presenter Paul Kent has been charged over an alleged scuffle with another man outside a Rozelle restaurant on the weekend.

Video footage widely circulated on social media appears to show Kent, 54, and another man arguing outside Totti’s restaurant in Rozelle at 11.20pm on Saturday.

Kent was arrested at Newtown Police Station today and charged with affray.

He has been granted bail ahead of a scheduled court appearance on May 24.

Another man, a 35-year-old, has also been charged with affray and remains before the courts.

Sydney Morning Herald this week reported Kent was being treated in hospital following injuries sustained, including a reported suspected collapsed lung and up to five broken ribs.

On Sunday FOX Sports and News Corp issued a joint statement stating, “FOX Sports presenter and News Corp Australia columnist Paul Kent has been stood down pending an immediate investigation.”

Kent was replaced in his NRL 360 co-hosting chair on Monday night by former England international James Graham.

“Paul Kent is not with us tonight. Paul has been stood down from FOX Sports while an investigation takes place into an incident over the weekend,” said Braith Anasta, opening the program.

Kent was previously accused of assaulting and choking his then-girlfriend, 33, at his home in Lilyfield last May but later found not guilty of the alleged domestic violence incident.
