A Tipping Point first…

"We're making history with our first-ever three-way tie break, and there are several surprises," says Todd Woodbridge.

Monday’s episode of Tipping Point Australia has a number of ‘firsts’ for the new Nine game show.

Playing head to head are 42-year-old technology manager from Victoria, Elizabeth Mulhall, 72-year-old retiree Domenic Zizza from Queensland, and 23-year-old media student from Victoria, Errol Hayden.

Todd Woodbridge said, “You won’t want to miss this episode! We’re making history with our first-ever three-way tie break, and there are several surprises that will have viewers shouting at their screens.

“I can reveal that the x2 jackpot counter is teetering on the edge in this episode. If the contestant manages to push it over, it will be a historic moment on Tipping Point.”

Monday, June 10, at 5.00pm on Nine.

  1. I am pleased that tipping point in Australia, but it is disappointing that they ask for people to apply from all over Australia , because ,if you listen on introduction, that 80 to 90 percent of contestants care either from Melbourne or Sydney.
I myself am from Perth and have applied and ask Channel 9 to show show respect to all of us and include all states.
All states are supporting the show , but less from tipping point and channel 9

  2. I like Tipping Point but I wish they would speed it up a bit so there is time at the end for us to see if the Jackpot would’ve been won when the contestant isn’t tempted to go for it.

    1. Jude, I sort of agree it’s a little slow. They could have had the ‘penalty pot’ for incorrect answers, 6 questions during head to head rather than 4, longer ‘quick fire’ round of 45 seconds instead of 30, and the penalty play out if they didn’t do it (took the money).
I suppose they wanted a point of difference from the UK version, seeing they’ve introduced the Jackpot Temptation.
My only issue with playing it out as you suggest, is that the timing would officially be different, so what happens when you play it out, may not have actually happened if they did it for real (if that makes sense), so it wouldn’t have been what really would have occurred if they had played.
Still love the show though, and looking forward to a certain episode appearing in the future 😉

    2. It’s an interesting curiosity that would be entertaining, however, as mentioned by baysider, the outcome is also dependant on the sequence and timing of the drops. The desire to see if the jackpot would’ve been won under different circumstances assumes that the outcome would be the same, which it may not be.
