Nine's European correspondent and Melbourne medical reporter leave after long employment at network.

Nine’s European correspondent Carrie-Anne Greenbank and Melbourne reporter Emily Rice have departed Nine, as the broadcaster announces up to 200 redundancies.
Carrie-Anne Greenbank (pictured left), twin sister of reporter Amy Greenbank, has been with Nine News for 16 years, after starting in with WIN News in Queensland, before joining Nine’s Gold Coast, Brisbane and Melbourne newsrooms.
In 2021 she was appointed to Nine’s London Bureau in 2021, covering the deaths of the Queen, Prince Phillip and Pope Benedict; the Boris Johnson / Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak years; the Israel-Hamas war, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Her frontline coverage also won her a Melbourne Press Club Quill and a Walkley nomination.
Melbourne medical reporter Emily Rice (pictured right) has been with Nine for over 12 years.
She was previously US Correspondent for 10 News First, becoming commercial television’s only Network Environment Reporter, and also worked on shows like The Project, Meet the Press, and 6:30 with George Negus.
During her career she has been recognised with several media awards including: the Australian Patient’s Association’s Best Health Reporter Award 2019, the Heart Foundation inaugural President’s Award, 2017, the Dietitians Association of Australia Nutrition Journalism Award, Highly Commended 2016, the Melbourne Press Club Quill Award for Breaking News Coverage, Finalist 2015 and National Asthma Council Australia Media Awards, 2014.

So she hasn’t departed yet!
There will be another tomorrow on MND Exercise, already filed, but newsroom has already bid her farewell.

Just to be clear, these two reporters were sacked as part of the 200 redundancies. Is that correct?
A lot of staff are leaving networks, some as redundancies, some not.
I am not quite sure how two very senior and experienced journalists can be let go. Big fan of Carrie-Anne her coverage overseas of Ukraine war when it first broke out and everything she has done has been first class. What a great loss to the network!!
