Not local nor TV, but I’m looking forward to watching the long-awaited and anticipated “Beverly Hills Cop 4” (Axel F) which premiered exclusively on Netflix today globally. Propelled the great Eddie Murphy to stardom after “48 Hrs” and with the same studio setting-up a lucrative decade for Paramount which included hits like “Friday the 13th”, “Fatal Attraction” and “Indiana Jones” to name a few and essentially the buddy-cop and wider action blockbuster genre. Thought it might’ve got a daily pick from you on a usually quiet Thursday…

Aw, good on you Knoxy. Just finished it, I thought it was really good. Not sure if it’s your type of watch, but if you don’t mind a night in with some action and popcorn, a lot of fun. The throwback references (to culture too) and soundtrack are standouts, also thought Taylour Paige and Kevin Bacon’s additions were fab and great seeing Judge Reinhold and John Ashton back after 3 decades. Actually a decent plot, with a conspiracy and twist (even if obvious) and committed, naunced performances, especially an older Murphy, even if still comedic and high octane at times. Such a shame Jerry Bruckheimer (nice nod with the original “Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer” logo for his late partner) went down the SVOD route, Netflix notoriously hold onto their properties exclusively (though I’m sure IP is with Bruckheimer), meaning no licencing for rent/buy/DVD/BluRay/4K/Pay TV/Free TV/other SVOD/BVOD and fragments the rights across the franchise 🙁
Maybe later, too much other priorities.
