Nine is picking up more and more content that has aired on Pay TV.
The latest is Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, the sitcom based on the book by late night chat host Chelsea Handler.
Handler isn’t the star, but appears in a recurring role as another character.
A comedy series about sassy young bar worker Chelsea Newman and her posse of working-stiff twentysomethings. In the premiere, Chelsea tries to get her life in order after getting busted for DUI.
The show had one season of twelve episodes before being cancelled by NBC.
It premieres 11:30pm Thursday October 11th on Nine.

A Chelsea Handler comedy show would’ve worked very well if it was done for premium cable in the US, where a lot more freedom with explicit material is available, not on a broadcast network, so that’s why it failed.

another show where i enjoyed the whole season , was cheap laugh but , was least entertaining , shame it was cancelled
Crude comedy but I liked it, shame it ended so soon… and is on so late on Nine. They will not promote this and most in AU will not see it even though its on FTA.
