Next week BBC First premieres Murder, comprising four telemovies in which all of the protagonists give monologues to camera, giving their version of what happened.

The first “Joint Enterprise” premiered in the UK in 2012 but the second, third and fourth all debuted this month.

The BAFTA award-winning drama Murder, written by BAFTA-winning Robert Jones, is an innovative and unique series of four standalone films. Murder uses personal confessions to revisit the missing moment leading up to a death, in search of the truth. Intercut with CCTV footage, live action and forensic evidence, the protagonists speak direct to camera giving their version of events. But where does the truth lie when the different versions don’t add up?

8:30pm Wednesday on BBC First.
