Gone: ER, Moonlight, Men in Trees, Closer.

Alex O’Loughlin may be left to wander the streets at night.

Nine is taking Moonlight, ER, Men in Trees, You Are What You Eat and Turn Back Your Body Clock out of schedule on Wednesday 6th February.

No replacement timeslots have yet been issued. It was never going to be an easy transition from summer to ratings for fans of these shows, and Nine is not alone in leaving fans lingering over their favourite summer fare.

But it could have given fans one more week, given ratings aren’t back and it is only replacing with a movie Catch Me If You Can from 8:30pm. The 7:30pm timeslot for the reality shows remains TBA.

The Closer is also out of schedule from Monday Feb 4 replaced by CSI:NY. Amazingly, Nip / Tuck remains in schedule (for now?).

  1. I too, cannot believe that Channel 9 has done this to the many fans of Moonlight. I am not normally into “vampire” shows but I came across this one when I was searching for something decent to watch and I couldn’t believe how well written this show was. I have informed my friends who have all agreed and are now devoted fans – Please put it back on and maybe rerun the earlier episodes for those of us who were late in switching on.

  2. Channel 9 YOU SUCK!!!! I cant believe you have taken ER off again. Neon Kitten I know I dont know you personally but I am desperate to see the remaining episodes of season 13. Unfortunately I am not very computer savvy so if you or anyone could help me locate episodes on the net I would be so grateful.

  3. Man, I agree with so many of the above comments. I’m officially sick of channel 9. Bunch of arse wipes. I barely watch any TV as it is, and the few shows I do enjoy (ER, Moonlight) just happen to be on 9. In disgust i’ve already gone ahead and watched all the remaining episodes of Moonlight (they’re all on youtube if anyone is interested, mind you they are in parts but hey, at least you’re not subjected to crappy channel 9 watermarks). Looks like it’s back to downloading ER as well. All I can say is thank god for channel 7 and their loyalty towards Lost.

  4. i cant beleive they r taking moonlight off!! its so shit i mean moonlight is the best show that has been on all holidays!! wot gives?? n they also pull mcleads daughters?? i mean how stupid can you get?? i mean wot where they thinking? ‘mmm tv is getting a bit boring i know lets pull the most interesting show off tv and put absolute shit on so no one will watch our station!! that will fix the problem altogether!!!’
i mean WTF?????? YOU SUCK CHANNEL NINE!!!

  5. Just wanted to tell you as a fan of Moonlight living in the U.S. that there has been 12 episodes altogether. They have showed all episodes and are rerunning most of the episodes through February. CBS said that the show will return they just don’t know bc of the writer’s strike. Also in an interview a while back alex said he had read scripts for episodes 13 – 15 I believe.

  6. wow. moonlight? this sucks.

You know, I actually stopped downloading / made a decision not to download several shows in order to watch them on tv legitimately but so far ALL of them have been taken off air before all the eps aired.

I am sure there other people like me out there. This is what we get for doing things the way the stations want us to. They complain that we download but then when we DON’T, when we do the right thing, they prevent us from seeing the rest of the episodes. Talk about double standards and back stabbing. And I for one am tired of it.

So I guess I will be going back to getting my shows online. And the next time they complain that people are downloading instead of watching on tv… they can tell it to the hand because the rest of me is no longer listening.

  7. to be fair to Seven, H&A was always coming back, so there is a legit reason….7 will just burn them off on sum thur night or sumthen like they did mid-season last year

Nine are THE shittest in terms of viewer loyalty…i mean, why dumb great dramas for shit like Monster House & The Chopping Block….

and yeah those watermarks are a skocker…while im really looking forward to Terminator (only 9 show for me to look forward to), i do wanna watch the show, not a watermark

  8. By the way, speaking of shows being pulled, Seven is taking That 70s Show off air as of Monday, with only 7 episodes remaining in this season (the final season).

If you watched it, guess you’re just not important enough. Sorry.

  9. Please don’t take away Moonlight! Good heavens, there are only 5 episodes to go anyway!I don’t care how late it screens. I’ll tape it. Just don’t pull it and replace it with some other garbage.

I agree with others who are complaining about the GIANT watermarks obscuring the picture. Are TV stations actually WANTING viewers to download their favourite shows rather than watch FTA TV? I’m glad I’m not an advertiser paying big bucks.

I rarely watch anything on Channel 9 anymore. Once upon a time it was THE best TV station. When I fell in love with Moonlight I knew something like this would happen. I wish 10 had it…

  10. I never watch TV as all that is aired, to me, are boring shows. Along comes a great show like Moonlight which I found out through my US fans recommending me to watch it. I was so taken with the show, here comes something with piazazz. Many of my friends are also watching the show and say the same thing as me, at long last TV is showing something decent! Now Channel 9 in their wisdom….not, is not even going to have the respect to at least run all the Eps for the viewers. Very disappointing. Back to giving TV a miss!!

  11. Disgusting.
Television is becoming like a bad employee who always calls in sick when you need them.
It’s just too bad for people who don’t have access to torrent sites and have to rely on such shady scheduling practices.
I will now be distributing all the current episodes to ER to anyone who wants them and I will NOT feel at all guilty at all.

  12. I have been trying really hard to keep an open mind where Channel 9 is concerned – giving them a “fair go” for 2008. But guess what? It’s starting all over again. I watched Nip/Tuck this week even though it was a late timeslot and really enjoyed it. I won’t let muself get too into it as it will probably go the way of the other shows mentioned.

I understand ratings are important but I think the tv channels just don’t let the viewing public settle into any sort of viewing routine anymore – consequently many of us are giving up (many turnting to pay tv or downloads. I have said it before – tv viewing is a lesuiretime activity and is supposed to be enjoyable. What sort of ratings are they chasing these days? Are they even achievable? I agree with the person who said ER would fill a late Thurs night slot – as would Survivor, Moonlight, Nip/Tuck & Men in Trees. What figures do they want these shows to pull?

  13. Suppose it would be too much to ask to have them put ER on Thursday night at 10:30pm?

This timeslot did wonders for Buffy and Angel a few years ago…why they dont try and use it instead of wasting it with complete rubbish is beyond me. They have enough eps of ER to make it through to about August, by then there will presumably be more eps coming out of the US.

How can I be smarter than the guy or girl in charge of Ch 9’s programming? I dont know how they expect to get viewers in when they dump them so soon after!

I just hope they leave Cashmere mafia alone when they put it on!

  14. You cant put a series on TELEVSION, and then just cut it half way through, like with Moonlight. What happens with the people that want to watch it. It would just like seeing a movie, and someone turning it off half way through and you dont get to see the end. I am a massive Nine fan, however if they do not air the remaining episodes of Moonlight, I will send the CEO a letter myself. If they want to move the show that okay, I would prefer it to stay where it is, but dont delete it altogether.

  15. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Why on earth can’t Nine have a little respect for their audience. ER was once a top rating show for the network, and people DO still watch it.

Not fair!!!! Definitely hitting the download trail now.

  16. Hey Neon, you didn’t see moonlight last night did you? (Re:obnoxious “Chopping Block” watermark spam), There was a similar watermark spam for the new Terminator show(sarah connor chronicles), and it was awful!!

  17. So Typical of Channel 9 just when a great show comes on like Moonlight their going to take it off.
Nine really need to rethink it’s program set up, let current show’s run their course and then put on the newer programs.
This is how you loose rating channel 9.

    DON’T TOUCH MOONLIGHT!!!!

  18. There won’t be any “replacement timeslot” for ER. Nine gave up on that one a year ago.

Those who know me personally should contact me for copies of seasons 13 and 14 on DVD-R, courtesy of channel BT. That’s right, Nine is more than a season behind with ER. And the only way fans of the show are going to see it is “illegally” these days.

No great loss, though, going by the obnoxious “Chopping Block” watermark spam that stained the screen for the entirety of ER last night.

  19. NO WAY!! Channel Nine SUCKS. I happen to love the current Wednesday night schedule. Moonlight is like my favourite show now. How do they expect to get decent ratings when they keep shuffling shows around and annoying people?

  20. Haven’t they only aired 11 episodes in the US and due to the writers strike, that is it at present for moonlight, stateside?
Nine obviously haven’t aired all 11 or even close to it(must be about 6-7 so far).

It will either turn up in a late night timeslot during the year or next summer, if or when it returns.

  21. To be clear, what I have indicated is: No replacement timeslots have yet been issued.

If when they are returned I will advise.

Yet to see schedule for Ratings Week Feb 10.

  22. Moonlight is my new favourite show, and it was rating well wasn’t it? it is the first thing i have watched on 9 for years, i left because of behaviour like this. how can they not give it a spot in the ratings time schedule when it has been performing really well.

  23. Knew it was too good to be true having ER on this long, 4 episodes in a row? A Miracle! Nine really is useless;

We need better ADSL in this country so no one will ever need network TV again.
