Nine is taking Moonlight, ER, Men in Trees, You Are What You Eat and Turn Back Your Body Clock out of schedule on Wednesday 6th February.

No replacement timeslots have yet been issued. It was never going to be an easy transition from summer to ratings for fans of these shows, and Nine is not alone in leaving fans lingering over their favourite summer fare.

But it could have given fans one more week, given ratings aren’t back and it is only replacing with a movie Catch Me If You Can from 8:30pm. The 7:30pm timeslot for the reality shows remains TBA.

The Closer is also out of schedule from Monday Feb 4 replaced by CSI:NY. Amazingly, Nip / Tuck remains in schedule (for now?).

  2. Channel 9 are the most frustrating tv channel. They don’t listen to their viewers, and they are cut happy making many people boycot the channel altogether.
    What is the point of getting into a show when they are just going to axe it 5 minutes later.

    Besides Moonlight which I love, remember how poorly they treated The Sopranos, 6 Feet Under and Nip Tuck.
    4 High quality shows that deserve to be watched!

  3. At first there’s hardly any good tv shows on and now there’s plenty and I have to chose between the Sarah Connor Chronicles or Woman’s Murder Club given nines current track record with shows maybe I’ll wait till comes out on dvd in case they don’t air it all.

    I can’t believe that nine has taken off Moonlight it’s a stupid move Moonlight hooked me from the first episode the cast and the stories are great very few shows do that to me if I can watch a new show from start to finish than I know that it’s good.

    This gets me thinking of one of my all time favorite shows that’s no longer on anymore I don’t know if anyone remembers or use to watch a show called the Pretender it was on nine started in 96 and ended in 2000 I use to love that show and I hate to think that if that show had actually begin this year or last year that it wouldn’t even last through it’s first season as something as smart and original would be to much for it to handle or see it’s ratings poetical.

    Nine had good shows on when they took on friends from seven back in the first or second season when it first aired but must have kicked themselves when the gave up on the O.C. during it’s first season and than ten picked it up not that I really watched the O.C. I just remember useless stuff like that.

    I think that nine started going down hill in the past year or so I wished that they would have another channel nine where they could at lest air these shows or the shows that there not sure of like they do with ten HD. Oh and now there going to bring more quiz shows great.

    Does anyone know why it got kicked off channel nine?.. is it the ratings.. writers strike.. or just channel 9 being a bitch?

  6. Lyn, go on to http://www.youtube.com and you will find the whole 12 episodes. I have already watched the episodes that weren’t aired. They are in parts approximately 9 minutes long to an episode but I got to see my favourite show even though WIN axed it. Good luck.

    this show is awesome and you have taken it off. 9.30 wednesday has been MY time. i sit down to enjoy moonlight. and now its gone. how dare you!! especially midway through the season . what are you thinking have you all lost your minds . and to be replacing it with such a stupid show like the sarah conner chronicles. what is going on. moonlight was a fresh new show. all i can say is nine SHAME SHAME SHAME!!! no longer have i got any interest cause everytime an interesting show comes on you damn well axe it. BRING BACK MOONLIGHT BRING BACK MOONLIGHT! hey prime or 10 take a good look at this show its fantastic nine hasnt got its head screwed on straight because they axed it but hey the other free to air stations pick this show its a winner. sorry nine but you have definatly lost the plot by letting this show go. very disapointed

  9. I can’t believe Moonlight is gone! It was such a great show. I only watched Win for that show, otherwise Win has just gone so far downhill it was the only thing that brought me back. Maybe Prime should pick up Moonlight?

  10. What happened to my favourite tv show Moonlight. It is the only show I watch & can’t wait for Wednesday each week. I sit down to watch it last night & some movie is on instead. Bring Moonlight back NOW

  11. It is not really good thing to do starting something and not finishing it. It’s really disgusting! I really don’t watch channel nine…usually watching the other channel, but when I saw one episode of moonlightI started to like it. I’m always looking forward every Wednesday to see it…but now I don’t have any reason to watch channel nine again.

  12. Again. another station with no thought for the public. I watch these shows, even sit through the commercials sometimes which is what it’s all about for the stations really. When they frig around with the schedule like this I have no compunction about grabbing these shows elsewhere which is what I have now done. So guess what. Now I won’t be watching your stations at all.

  13. i can’t believe they took moonlight off. it’s the only show i watch in the week , i was like waiting for wednesday just to c moonlight . u know what chanel 9 i hope u r happy by making users switch to other chanel …….u loosers

  14. This is just stupid, I can not believe they have taken it off.

    I was excited cause I thought I was gonna sit down last night & watch Moonlight.

    WRONG !!!!! instead I was dissapointed to see a movie on (which I have already seen twice) & now I hear it might not be back.

    Why would they do that, they only had about 4 – 5 eps left.

  15. MORONIC…is really the only word that comes to me when I think of Channel Nine’s decision to take ‘Moonlight’ off. Don’t you have a HD station – wouldn’t that solve your problem regarding time slots? Wouldn’t viewers be happy? It has certainly kept me happy with Channel Ten and Channel 7.

  17. I started watching moonlight when it started and have been enjoying it from day one. I tuned in tonight – and oh look, catch me if you can is on…

    I am really tired of Australian TV networks moving time slots and messing around with programming. It goes on all the time.

    Hands up if you are sick of reality TV? Boring! Boring! Boring!
    Celebrity spelling, dancing, big brother, biggest loser – do they think the general public are vegetables? It’s all about revenue generation from SMS’s.

    Is it any wonder that people are turning to Peer to Peer file sharing programs to download TV episodes?

    Bah I give up! I’m going to bed.

  18. Hmmm, I suspect like quite a few people I was somewhat demystified at 9.30 when there appeared to be some movie on instead of Moonlight. I am thoroughly disappointed as have been enjoying Moonlight immensely. I don’t see what’s to be gained by taking off a programme halfway through the series and replacing it with some pretty ordinary movie that everyone has seen already? Does anyone know how we can complain to Channel 9?

  19. Yeah, crap like this sucks. I love Moonlight. How hard is it for a network to invest in a show that –
    a. is such a guilty pleasure
    b. showcases some great Aussie talent in Alex O’Loughlin, along with a sweet ensemble cast
    c. has available episodes (eps 9 thru 12) when the US writers strike is really dictating just exactly what we can see right now
    d. and is just bloody great!
    It rates well in the US and won the People’s Choice Award for best new show. Surely, channel 9 could give it a burl during ratings season and see how it flies?
    Seriously. Do I need to come down there and sort this out personally?

  20. Wow, got setup to watch ER (the only show I watch on commercial tv) and what???!!! A movie? The only other show I regularly watched in the past was the West Wing… also a victim to the ratings season. Must be that people with only half a brain are those who dictate what airs on commercial tv. No wonder Channel 9 slips to third spot even behind a channel airing Big Brother….

  21. Moonlight was the only thing I watched on WIN. How do they expect their ads to sell me things if now I’ll never see them, as there’s nothing else they show I want to view.

  22. I’m ticked off with this, as is my brother and my mother. Luckily a new ep of Spicks and Specks is on tonight so there is at least something to watch.

    I’ve gotten used to this kind of crap from commercial networks. Seven and their poor showing of the Stargate franchise. Ten and their poor showing of BSG and Jericho (thank God BSG is now on HD). Nine has done it in the past with Star Trek.

    It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks, after the Great Reshuffle that is the beginning of the ratings period.

  23. Nice going channel nine. ER is one of the few shows worth watching. I’m really annoyed that it’s off the air again, and I will also be obtaining the episodes by other means.

  24. I can’t believe they took Moonlight off the air. Can’t channel nine at least finish one full season of something? They’re only showing a rerun of a movie on Wednesday, would it be so hard for them to satisfy veiwers?

  25. well i can’t believe channel 9 taking “moonlight” & “closer” off their timeslots. typical of 9 to take off shows when they are part way thru the series, when are these stations going to get smart and put on what the majority of viewers want and not what they think we want. get smart 9 and get these shows back on.
