  1. David, Rumours have been spreading around the internet about a new foxtel channel called Toon Disney. I was wondering if you could please confirm this and please find out if Power Rangers will be on it as in America’s Toon Disney it is shown from season one. Thanks and have a good day!

  2. Haven’t heard of any date. I fear if its “too xmas” they will hold off until December. As there are no other eps to follow it, it’s difficult to use it as a lead into a new series as they traditionally do with other shows like Dr Who.

  3. Dave, its more a compliment that you give your readers a real person POV than anything, and I fully respect the time you took to explain it. Next to no sites, mediums, take the time to offer a heartfelt reason behind their actions and postings. And I (plus many readers I’m sure) fully appreciate it. Being a user of the net and a reader of blogs, it is very rare an operator offers a heartfelt post to its users, most are trying to establish some sort of superiority to it users rather than saying hello and offer something real.
So thank you Dave, and again, I really am sorry If I have said things that have offended you, more so now that you took the time to say this. And respect in Australia is about saying your a human being not some sort of “I know and you dont” sort of guy.
I know that your work will only gain support in the end when your truly trying to inform people.
I feel silly, so again, thank you from my TV, Movie loving soul and you do really have an addictive site 🙂
    Take care Dave 🙂

  4. Thanks, I guess we’re all only human…. I do what I can for the fans, really, because at heart I’m a fan too.

When I started the blog it was borne out of frustration that Aussie TV had limited coverage online (and Pay TV even less). I wanted to further the flow of information, and break down that old Aussie habit of only ever telling people what was ahead in the next seven days. And to put some questions out there to networks who treat audiences with contempt, especially, as we know in regards to programming.

I’d like to think that the balance of news, reviews, ratings, scheduling, galleries, opinion, guides and international has proven that other media has been too narrow in its TV coverage. The archive resource is also now well-developed. Given the site’s been booming lately that appears to be the case. I’m sure you know there aren’t a lot of local sites that refresh almost all day every day.

I’m also aware there are a lot of journos using the site as a resource too. But it’s a two way street, the site in turn uses their stories, so that you, dear reader can ideally get all the necessary info. TV Tonight should always be read in conjunction with other media, because I may cover a story from a different angle.

Neither I nor the site are perfect. My opinion is, like yours, just one view, and there are times when there are typos (one man, one blog!) or you can be so rushed to get the info out you overlook an error. Dammit.

When it comes to comments, healthy debate is a good thing where it’s justified and respective, and any visitor here knows I print criticism when it’s in keeping with the comments policy. I have to say moderating comments, and occasionally being called upon to referee is the least fun part of the blog.

Given I’m now at risk of contradicting my own policy (ie. comments length!) I’ll pipe up. But I appreciate your thoughts given some of your feedback has been on the lively side, ha.

Hope you continue to use the site.

  5. Hey Dave, I’m sorry, I lose the plot sometimes.
You do a great job and theres no denying that.
Sorry again, and Thanks for your efforts bro 🙂

  6. The Office is being poorly treated by TEN who last showed new eps around Xmas time. There was an early plan to put it on TEN HD but that was switched at the last minute, which optimistically means they might bring it to SD?

  7. David,
Not sure if this has been asked before, but what exactly is 10 doing with the 3rd season of the Office?
I believe it is not even being aired on the HD channel, let alone the SD channel at the moment.

  8. David, any word on when Seven will bring back Las Vegas. With fasttracked shows being pulled because of the writer’s strike, you think this show may prove a good replacement?!?!

  9. David, do you know gladiators is coming? And also could you please find out the launch date for Big Brother 2008? i am really looking forward to big brother with kyle and jackie o. Thanks

  10. Hello David, Dragon Ball Z is showing on cartoon network weekday mornings. i was wondering if you could please find out for me that if when they finishing showing all the episodes will they go go dragon ball gt or start dragon ball z from the beginning again? All help appreciated.

  11. Can anyone tell me why the cricket today was on Fox Sports, but with Channel Nine cameras, commentators etc. I thought the cricket was doing good fr Nine?

  12. David – any news on whether a FTA channel will screen The Celebrity Apprentice? I was sceptical about the show at first, but having watched the first seven eps it’s one of the funniest, entertaining and compelling reality shows I’ve seen for a while, and nothing like the previous 6 seasons.
