It's back for another block of shows, but first here's a clip show we prepared earlier.

Good News Week is coming back to TEN in October.

The revived panel show defied the odds of a new lease of life and proved it could attract new interest. TEN will bring the show back first with a clip show at 9:30pm Monday October 6.

The new series is currently scheduled to return Monday October 13 at 9:30pm.

Network Ten will celebrate the pending return of Good News Week with a special one hour ‘best of’ show featuring highlights of the year to date.

Catch host Paul McDermott alongside team leaders Mikey Robins and Claire Hooper as they decipher,
dissect, deconstruct and hilariously misrepresent news of the year.

Following a hugely successful return to television on Network Ten early in 2008, Good News Week is back from Monday 13th October at 9:30pm.

  2. I think 10 are trying to gain a bit more credibility in keeping a show on air for the entire season without taking it off half way or a few eps short (like last time). I still think they are paying for taking the first season off air with eps still left over.

  3. Definately both 9 & 7 take off shows with much better ratings. Ugly Betty got the chop with 1m viewers! And we’re still to see the return of Shark 🙁

  5. what! now it is 2 episodes of burn notice that ten will be holding over, seriously de ja vu, if a network shows every available episode of a show do they all break out in hives or something, is there some sort of bet going between the networks to see which one can pull this stunt the most times.

    i guess america did have a small break between episode 7 and 8 which is where this stop will happen, but that was only for 2 weeks, how long will it be for us? now i’m really hoping that they intend on showing it to fill any off-weeks that 90210 has, coz that is the only move that i will find acceptable.

  6. Good News Week was always destined for 9:30pm. Its not like it does spectacularly against City Homicide anyway. At least 90210 will pull in the younger demo for Ten. GNW is better for the oldies who enjoyed watching it on ABC 8 years ago. Some shows like Rove and GNW seem to work better in later slots I reckon… ever since they pulled Rove forward an hour and shifting him to Sundays I just haven’t found the show as entertaining as it used to be a few years back.

    It has a “good looking” main character, an “attractive” female co-host and they spend the show “kicking ass” solving crime and ridding the town of baddies.

    I presume you mean “co-star” or perhaps “main character” in place of co-host? And if every show involving a good looking character with a sidekick who fights “baddies” was a cop show, you’d have to lump Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Alias, 24, Fringe, Supernatural, Tru Calling, Knight Rider, Eureka, Journeyman, and thousands of other shows into that category as well. Granted, there are too many police procedurals on TV, but there just as many useless Aussie factuals as well.

  7. This is awsome, i can’t wait. Plus we should not fight for time slots can be all just get along. American shows are as good a Australian ones and if we don’t fight then Paul Mcdermott can be on our screens for another 5 years. I encourage all to watch who knows you might learn something.

  9. Neon Kitten, you’re right. It’s not a generic cop show as Slark implied. It’s a generic detective show, and a low budget one at that. (And I watched the first few episodes, and decided it wasn’t any good after the main character conned a conman in the most obvious and unbelievable way.)

  11. I can’t believe this garbage is coming back (again!) Channel 10 absolutely SATURATE it’s audience with ads for this and it always went over time so I’d have to wait ages for the next show to start.

    I hope Burn Notice isn’t taken off. I’m going to be really pissed if they do this to me again!

Slark, you’re probably a troll, but in case you were actually being serious: if you honestly think Burn Notice is “just another CSI/Law and Order/NCIS/Whatever the hell else American cop show” then you’ve just admitted to the world that you’re criticising a show you’ve never actually watched.

  14. I didn’t watch the revived ‘GNW’ this year due to ‘Desperate Housewives’, but every ad break and after ‘DH’ ended (and when ‘GNW’ ran overtime) is was hilarious to watch.

    Paul McDermott is great and Claire Hooper is very funny (although better at stand-up) as seen on the late and great ‘The Sideshow’. They always have good guests too. Can’t wait.

  15. But 90210 SHOULD stall. It died a very long time ago. Things die for a reason.

    I have a feeling that they’re attempting to bring in another OC, but under a different name.

    I don’t understand why channel 10 are putting in a clip show instead of the actual show. I can only assume that its a way of getting audiences exited/geared up for the next however many episodes before the season return next year.

    Don’t you think that its a little bit dissapointing that a show just like everyother takes place of something not only different, but Australian?!

  17. 9.30 is perfect for a show like this – not competing with big ticket Dramas, I think Ten are thinking long term to get it out of the road of City Homicide.

    I predict at 9.30 GNW will hold an audience but if you move 90210 any later than 8.30 (it should be on 7.30 Fridays in homage to the original) it will stall

  18. At last!! Love this show and I agree with Slark , Paul Mac is one of the finest comedians we have..I’d even say the best one at the moment. Not sure about the clip show but I’ll probably tune in as it’s still GNW and likely better then what 9 or 7 will have on.

  19. A clip show? Awww… I was looking forward to 13th October. But at least it’s back. Thank God! 90210 has taken the place of GNW?????? How DARE they? A 9:30 timeslot is so late. =( What happened to good old 8:30? Good News Week was doing so well. What’s wrong with Australian stuff? Why isn’t channel TEN trying to nurture our own shows?

    Bring GNW back to 8:30!

  20. GNW is the greatest! Paul is one of the best comics to ever come out of Australia – its just so dissapointing that channel 10 give priority to American crap rather than home grown *actual* talent.

    90210 died before I was old enough to rant against it, and it should have stayed that way. Burn Notice is just another CSI/Law and Order/NCIS/Whatever the hell else American cop show overloaded with sex and “action”.

    Personnaly, I’ve had enough. Bring back the comedy!

  22. BN will either be bumped to 10:30pm or held over til next year. I’m glad Ten are thinking of the tweens and giving them the opportunity to view 90210 at a decent hour – 8:30pm is a good time for their demographic and now they won’t be sleeping during class when the teacher calls on them to answer a question.

    I never got into GNW. I watched the first episode and thought it was an hour-long version of Out of the Question. It seems to have a big fanbase though

  23. yeah, by my reckoning that means we will be left with 1 episode of burn notice yet to air! come on ten it is one week and all you are putting on is a clip show- just finish burn notice so we don’t have to complain like we did last time it was left 3 episodes short. unless 90210 is going to have 1 week off somewhere soon and burn notice goes to 8:30 that week they are going to leave us 1 episode short, which is just idiotic.

  24. With only 3 eps left I hope ch10 doesn’t leave Burn Notice until next year when it comes back in the US, or it’s going back onto my DL list!

    But what will give 90210 or BN?

    BTW – I think this week both shows should have taken a break so ch10 could do the Brownlow’s and Emmy coverage justice!
