TEN dumps 90210. Again.

Try not to look surprised.....TEN changes summer again. Seriously.

Everybody try not to look surprised.

Summer on TEN just changed again and guess what’s gone?

TV Tonight‘s tip (this morning) that 90210 wouldn’t secure its 7:30pm Sunday slot has proven fortuitous.

TEN has adjusted this Sunday November 30th as follows:
Updated

6:30pm Thank God You’re Here (season final)
7:40pm Don’t Forget The Lyrics
8:40pm Sunday Night Movie – School Of Rock
10:50pm Californication
11:25pm The Office
11:55pm Sunday Late Night Movie – Planes Trains & Automobiles

That also pushes out America’s Next Top Model, but it is set to start a week later at 6:30pm Sunday Dec 7 followed by more Don’t Forget The Lyrics. That leaves Wayne Brady’s game show set to air twice weekly.

Last night 90210 had a lousy 408,000* viewers (last in its timeslot) effectively leaving TEN no choice but to drop it from 7:30 Sundays -arguably the most profile slot of the week.

Many will argue that TEN has nobody but itself to blame here, dropping the show into last night’s schedule with limited advance promotion time, and pulling it the first time around leaving it ripe for downloads by fans who were keen to stick with it.

As of now the show no longer has a timeslot on TEN. Whether it moves to TEN HD at some point (or NEXT summer?) remains to be seen.

  1. I’m pissed about Californication not being on the lineup. Does anybody know if they are going to finish the season?
I was giving 10 a go and not downloading this season because they show it so soon after it is aired in the US. Both trying to save quota and trying to support free to air television.
Not that they care what the viewers have to say but they can F**k off!

  2. I’m certain if 90210 was on any other channel it would not have been given a seond chance like TEN gave it, after the rating it achieved the first time it was on.

  3. What a joke! Is Channel 10 deliberately trying to alienate & confuse viewers before Summer has even started?? I watched 90210 last night by chance as I had no idea it was even on thanks to Channel 10’s lack of advertising & random programming. As soon as I saw that there was no preview for the next episode, I knew it wouldn’t be coming back.

It’s obvious that Channel 10 doesn’t want 90210 so they should give it up to a channel that actually has some respect for its viewers. Maybe then we’ll be able to get through one season without this ridiculous stop-starting that Channel 10 is subjecting us to.

I won’t be watching any other Channel 10 shows this Summer. Thank God for Foxtel!

  4. First reaction after I read your opening para was – laughing, yes laughing out loud.
One day after all free to air broadcasters here trumpet how they are so good to viewers, Ten does this.
I half watched 90210 last week as i was preparing tea – even thought about watching it nextweek.
    Surprised no – expected yes.
What show is next on sacrificial chopping block by networks ?

  5. being a teen, ten is my favourite network. but the moving and dumping of shows is having an effect! it used to have great shows like the oc, smallville, taken out, veronica mars, one tree hill and even big brother was good in the day. all these shows have been moved to ten hd or been axed by ten or axed in the us! We need a free to air network like the cw that will keep shows!

  6. Come on, you can understand Ten’s decision here, the figures it has been getting have been embrasing, even when it was first on.

Of course they should just play it out late at night or something.

  7. Can I just say I really appreciate you always keeping us in the know about these ever-changing schedules, David. I would be so confused about when things are on if it weren’t for Tv Tonight!

Sucks that 90210 fans are getting screwed over again, but I can’t say I blame Ten for pulling it when ratings were that low. Though perhaps they just didn’t advertise its return enough. Looks like it’s set to be one of those shows where the DVDs get released before the show’s even had a decent run on free to air.

  8. Although I don’t have a peoplemeter box in my house, I didn’t watch 90210 last night because I didn’t know it was on. Thanks ten for stuffing round the schedule so much your viewers don’t know what’s on when.

  9. David, Californication is still running in the US – episode 9 of 12 aired less than 24 hours ago there.

Looks like I made the right decision in downloading that from the start, as I predicted I would.

As for 90210, can’t stand it but feel bad for those that were looking forward to it. Ten should really bump these shows to later-night slots rather than just pulling them randomly.

  10. Nooooo, really they changed it again! I’d never have guessed!

Seriously Ten, get you act together!

Hell, if you want help, ask the people that run and post at this forum, I know we’ve got better Ideas about what to show than what you are showing to the public!
