TEN dumps 90210. Again.

Try not to look surprised.....TEN changes summer again. Seriously.

Everybody try not to look surprised.

Summer on TEN just changed again and guess what’s gone?

TV Tonight‘s tip (this morning) that 90210 wouldn’t secure its 7:30pm Sunday slot has proven fortuitous.

TEN has adjusted this Sunday November 30th as follows:
Updated

6:30pm Thank God You’re Here (season final)
7:40pm Don’t Forget The Lyrics
8:40pm Sunday Night Movie – School Of Rock
10:50pm Californication
11:25pm The Office
11:55pm Sunday Late Night Movie – Planes Trains & Automobiles

That also pushes out America’s Next Top Model, but it is set to start a week later at 6:30pm Sunday Dec 7 followed by more Don’t Forget The Lyrics. That leaves Wayne Brady’s game show set to air twice weekly.

Last night 90210 had a lousy 408,000* viewers (last in its timeslot) effectively leaving TEN no choice but to drop it from 7:30 Sundays -arguably the most profile slot of the week.

Many will argue that TEN has nobody but itself to blame here, dropping the show into last night’s schedule with limited advance promotion time, and pulling it the first time around leaving it ripe for downloads by fans who were keen to stick with it.

As of now the show no longer has a timeslot on TEN. Whether it moves to TEN HD at some point (or NEXT summer?) remains to be seen.

  1. what the hell!! 90210 is the best show so why do you keep cancelling it!
for those who dont like it…. Dont watch it!!! theres plenty of other shows on tely.. stop being anoying and wrekin it for the rest of us!! =(

  2. gr 10 is jus making me madder and madder, first i find out bout the simpsons…not only being cancelled, but bold & the beautiful, and now i sit down ready for 90210…and find out that boring game show is on instead. Argh Damn Channel 10!

  3. This is so annoying ready to watch 90210 and some other stupid piece of garbage on, Channel10 wake up!!!!!!!! You are losing watchers by the minute.

What in hell were they thinking moving Bold and the Beautiful to 6pm, who’s going to watch it at that time!!! Meal time.

  4. TEN is really starting to shit me. give 90210 a friggin chance!

remember when channel 9 aired the pilot of the OC? it disappeared into nowhere and ten picked it up and ran it all seasons from beginning to end. well… that could be 90210. maybe another network will pick it up and save it before TEN makes us hate it.

it’s bad enough that one tree hill is only played on HD. and even then most weeks it gets bumped off for NASCAR or NFL. booooooo….

And what the heck is up with Bold & Beautiful being aired 6:00 Weeknights????

  5. School of Rock…..again??? WTF?? C’mon channel 10. Listen to the public, we want 90210 on. It’s a given. but when you take it off air and put it back on with little advertising of course your ratings will be down. give it a fair go!!!!!!!

    Annoyed!!! ….again!!

  6. This was going to be the first Sunday in a long time where I was actually going to watch Network TEN from 6:30 to 10:30 instead of just joining them for the end of Australian Idol and the weekly ep of Rove/Movie.

Looking at that lineup, I’m not joining them at all. There’s only so many times that I can watch School of Rock. I don’t mind Mean Girls because it’s on later in the evening, and also because I actually don’t mind the movie, however SOR makes me cry it’s so bad/overplayed.

I was down on the GC for Schoolies and to my surprise there was heaps of people who didn’t go to the parties from 7:30 to 8:30 because they were in their rooms watching 90210, I’m serious. There are so many people out there who actually watch shows when they’re screened on TV in teensville instead of downloading them and they/me are the losers in all of this.

PS I reckon those numbers are wack. Their sample must be very narrow becasue 90210 should have got sooooooooooo many more viewers than that.

  7. This is so stupid , I’m so sick and tired that they are taking this show off again. I’ve seen the next episode and it’s one of the best episodes throughout the season. It was just sunday that I knew 90210 was going to be on again, so there wasn’t many promos going for this episode. I think they should put a hep of promos for this show and see what viewers think. It was just after one episode that they were not going to put it back on sunday. That why people don’t watch the Ten Network anymore not like before.

  8. How can you drop a show from a slot, for not rating well, when the slot you are comparing it to is a different day. 90210 Was put on for the second time on a Monday night. If we all remember Idol final was on Sunday. Go Ten, really Seriously ???

  9. WTF is happening to channel ten??
If 90210 is rating low put it on a different time slot where another show is getting even less ratings than 90210 is. Who ever is running channel 10 better pull his ass back into line or get the sack!

  10. Surprise, surprise. Gladly, I’ve been watching this online since it got axed the first time anyway. TEN has lost me as a viewer. I won’t miss the movies repeated every month, the crappy reality shows and Simpson’s reruns.

  11. No wonder it didn’t rate well. Not only did it have extremely limited promotion (I saw ONE ad) but fans would’ve download it ages ago (like when it was taken off right away).

From what I’ve seen, it’s not the best show and not the most interesting (and not my type really) but I’ll continue watching it if it comes back on. I don’t think I’d waste downloads on it though.

  12. Can we cut-out the TEN bashing a bit? How can the poor buggers win? They air something which pulls low numbers and they’re idiots, they take the offending show off air and they’re idiots, they experiment with their programming and they’re idiots…

    Give it a rest!

  13. Maybe 90210 should have been kept at 7:30pm Mondays instead of Friends/Rules re-runs now they’ve decided it won’t work on Sundays, to see if it can build an audience….

Sharpy, seen a promo tonight saying DFTL is on 7:40 Sunday, so its going ahead.

  14. I love 90210 & watched it on Monday night, I can’t believe 10 have axed the show again- just leave it on in the non ratings period for it to find an audience over summer – Please!!!

  15. um i thought summer was the time when axed shows were given a go, obviously they don’t really care for viewers. i mean it’s called non – ratings period for a reason isn’t it?

    .Bob.

  16. Well I’m glad Californication is back on the sked at least. There’s only like four or five eps left in the season anyway! Can’t believe they’re bothering with The Ex-List, given that it was canned in the states a few weeks ago. I have heard that the central mystery is resolved in the final episode at least.

  17. I watched it.

I think it was well suited to a weekend timeslot. There is a younger audience watching at that time. You often see kids movies do well on sat/sun. I think they should have tried it on Sunday.

It is probably for the best that gossip girl is at 10.30. There is probably less pressure to get a big audience. If they had scheduled it at 8.30 there is more risk that it gets taken off.
