Spoiler: Supernatural casting

Spoiler: Casting news from the land of Supernatural. Don't go, if you don't wanna know!

supernatural-acklesSPOILER: Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Actor Jake Abel (Threshold) is to play a third brother in Supernatural.

Abel (pictured, below) has been cast as Adam Milligan, an 18-year-old whom Sam and Dean meet in an episode aptly titled “Jump the Shark” to air in the US in April.

According to TVGuide: “Adam, viewers will learn, is the by-product of a little somethin’-somethin’ that big daddy John enjoyed during one of his demon hunts. Upon eventually being told by a onetime paramour of Adam’s paternity, John paid the lad the occasional visit. Never, though, did John alert Sam and Dean to Adam’s existence, nor vice versa.”

abelSo like Oliver joining the Brady Bunch, could this be the beginning of the end (or did we pass that already)?

So far there is no word on the return of episodes to TEN.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are scheduled to attend All Hell Breaks Loose, Supernatural’s Australian Convention, to be held 18-19 April, 2009 at UNSW in Campus Kensington.

  1. and with this other brother why wait untill half way through season 4 to bring him in its going to through the hold hole out having another brother wat the hell was the writers of the show thinking its not going to work

  2. when the hell is supernatural coming back to ten im am so sick of waiting and the channel ten web site is no help it dosnt tell u anything so please some one tell me when its coming back on plz plz plz

  3. For all those people concerned with the “Is this the end of Supernatural as we know it cause they’re adding another brother” discussion then you should probably know this:

The extra brother feautured in this episode won’t be making any more appearances in the show from what I’ve read. Also I think someone dies in this episode anyway. I kinda put two and two together here…

  4. i would also like to know when SN will return, although its apparently not on the february schedule for ten and may not be on for the first half of the year, according to ch.ten forums. I’m not too sure about this third brother idea either, if it dosnt work well they’ll probably drop the character like the did with Jo in season 2.

  5. When is Supernatural returning to Channel Ten?

This is certainly going to be an interesting development if it’s true. But come on Australia, we haven’t even seen 4.07 yet (or is it 4:08?) and America is up to 4:14! At least get us up in the ‘teens…

  6. We all know how Kripke likes to mess with our heads. I won’t take anything as gospel until I see it play out. Evil genius that he is, EK loves to get the audience going on speculation.

  7. Kripke is an evil genius!! I don’t think that this Adam is a real brother. It’s probably just a trick. The show has been doing really well, so I don’t think we have anything to worry about. I think the show will be picked up for a 5th season!!

  8. It sounds like the series creator Eric Kripke is ‘playing’ with the Supernatural audience again. If you are a regular viewer you would know that he loves doing this with our heads. He is always willing to try other ideas of filming and story telling in this wonderful series. So hey!!! don’t be all negative, I doubt Kripke would ‘Jump the Shark’ as the title suggests, he is too clever for that….
I will not be missing an episode of my favourite show – lets all support and enjoy the ride.

  9. I think the episode title “Jump the Shark” suggests that is 4th wall breaking TV (think SG1 200) or possible a false memory deal like Torchwoods “Adam” or Buffys Dawn.

Im pretty sure this “new brother” wont be around in the next episode.

  10. Not liking this one bit! There’s nothing wrong with Supernatural. It doesn’t need to be changed. If they wanted to shake things up a bit more though, couldn’t they come up with something better than this? Supernatural’s small cast is one of it’s may strong points. There’s no need to bring in a new character that’s related to them.

It’s like naming the episode “Jump the Shark” is enforcing the show’s death. Of course, I see Supernatural going for a lot longer but I just hope this new “brother” (yeah right, I’ll never see him as a Winchester) isn’t around for too long or mention too much.

  11. Jump the Shark 😆 I love how shows poke fun at that, Boston Legal does the same in it’s final season.

I guess we can only hope the show comes back before the guys get here. Not good to come and promote a show that is not even airing.

  12. Supernatural’s ratings in America have increased this year in a time when most other shows have decreased…so I don’t think it’s jumped the shark just yet. It will depend on whether this younger brother becomes a regular or is just in one episode. At least they didn’t find a younger sister!!

  13. Its probably not a real brother, just a hoax of some kind, like the Trickster perhaps or just a character created to annoy the brothers for a few episodes until the season finale where the true plan is revealed. Then again, I stopped watching the show after season 3, it jumped too many sharks as it was when all the female characters on the show were murdered (Ruby, Bella) just to please all the 12 yr old fans who wanted Deany and Sammy all to themselves
