Brady fan buys original Brady Bunch home

Tina Trahan admits her purchase is “the worst investment ever” but could not resist owning the classic TV home.

Diehard US Brady Bunch fan, Tina Trahan, has bought the Los Angeles home used by the 1970s sitcom and recently renovated by cable network HGTV.

The house sold for $3.2 million (AUD$4.98m) well below the listed price of $5.5m (AUD$8.5m).

HGTV bought the house and renovated it in A Very Brady Renovation with original cast members Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy).

The network said they planned to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the home to help provide up to 250,000 meals for Turn Up! Fight Hunger, an initiative that helps kids living with hunger.

Trahan conceded that the property was “the worst investment ever” but said plans to use it for fundraising and charitable events, and as a luxury rental.

She said she felt HGTV paid too much for the home, as it had no working appliances in order to look identical to the Brady home.

“No one is going in there to make pork chops and applesauce in that kitchen,” said Trahan.
