Rachel Griffiths heads up a list of presenters at our biggest awards night.

griffithsPresenters have been announced for the Logie Awards with names including: Kristy Hinze, Rove McManus, Lisa McCune, Matthew Newton, Dave Hughes, Shaun Micallef, Wil Anderson, Liz Hayes, George Negus, Rodger Corser, Steve Bisley, Dr Chris Brown, Roy Billing, Josh Lawson, Ed Kavalee, Sarah Murdoch and The Umbilical Brothers.

The list includes at least 1 from ABC, 2 from SBS and 2 from pay television, although some have appeared on both pay and Free to Air television.

Also appearing is Brothers & Sisters‘ Rachel Griffiths, a previous Logie invitee in 2007.

Ironically of course, Griffiths protested at the opening night of Crown Casino by running through the casino topless…

  1. the umbies are Hilarious!!!!! i found one of there dvd’s in my cupboard a while ago and one of their special features was them presenting the actual logies, and they made it 100% comedy gold! me and my sister were in stitches!!! go umbies, keep up the good (scratch that) Greatwork!!

  2. shaun micallef is hilariously funny, but Ed Kavalee??? ive never heard him on radio or anything (he could be better there), but on TGYH he irrationally bugs me. don’t ask me why, because i have no idea… is there like a proper interview of him anywhere on the internet?

  3. The Umbilical Brothers are brilliant performers and i’m glad they’ll be at the Logies this year – their tribute to Sally Fletcher last year was a highlight of the whole show!

  4. Kubs, i wasn’t really talking about who was signed where, just the connection, atleast thats what i meant. and josh lawsons most topical location is at 9 for wipeout and i’m sure he will be announced as
” to present the logie for ___ is (person) from (show), and from wipeout australia, Josh Lawson!!”

  5. Are you kidding? The Umbilical Brothers were the funniest thing of last year’s Logies. They’re more talented than anyone else on the list!

I think the Logies is a stark example of Tall-Poppy syndrome in Australia. Everyone is so hyper-critical. I don’t think it will ever be any different no matter who you get to present.

  6. well we can’t complain too much if it’s not the full list, but 9 will lose a lot of respect if they start making it all about them. the logies have enough issues with unprofessionalism.

shane bourne should defs be there great actor, great personality, 2 high profile shows.

any word on who will present the gold, it’s usually a past winner, lisa only did it 2 years ago and rove is nominated. i’d say either georgie parker or john wood.

and i agree with dragonchik, what is with the umbilical brothers they are just weird.

  7. not a very impressive list, usually they are. i guess this is part of the big budget cuts that have been talked about. also very ch9 oriented Lisa McCune, Matthew Newton, Liz Hayes, Roy Billing, and Josh Lawson, no one from 7. usually i have been satisfied wit the network diversity, it’s not looking that way now.

surely a rafter should be in there, or shane bourne or noni.

  8. does ch9 have any say in who presents. because i can see 5 people that are connected to 9 and none from 7.

surely the fact that 7 is our #1 network and is the leader in local product we should be seeing some of them up there. but a good list none the less.

but the umbilical brothers? i don’t get them. are they supposed to be funny?
