Midsomer moves to Fridays

These episodes of Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby have screened in Australia before, but not on the ABC.

midsomer-murdersMidsomer Murders returns to ABC later this month in episodes that screen on the network for the first time.

These are older episodes from 1999 which have previously aired on the Nine Network. As such they will screen on Friday nights instead of the show’s regular Sunday slot.

It picks up from S2E4, “Blood Will Out” at 8:30pm Friday April 17 and moves to S3.

When Orville Tudway (Kevin McNally), horses and gypsy caravan in tow, arrives in the village of Martyr Warren and is swiftly joined by his old arch enemy the Smith clan, it is clear that the usual peaceful village life is going to be disturbed.

Despite complaints from Hector Bridges (Paul Jesson), the intensely unpopular local magistrate, and sisters Felicity (Phyllida Law) and Tilly Dinsdale (Rowena Cooper), Barnaby (John Nettles) is powerless to move the travellers on.

Barnaby and Troy (Daniel Casey) are called in to investigate when Hector is found dead in his house – shot in the chest. As the majority of the village had been watching the chariot race between Orville and Michael Smith’s (Nick Moran) rival clans at the time Hector was killed, there is a limited number of suspects … or so it seems at first.

  1. I know that if I was in Midsomer England and someone was suspected of being murdered I would be out of Misomer so quick that if you blinked you would miss me leaving.

Why? Because it always takes the good old detective several murders before he finally ‘nails’ the murderer.

    Cheers,
