‘Prue and Trude’ series in the pipeline?

Kath and Kim producer Rick McKenna has told the Herald Sun that Gina Riley and Jane Turner may return to production in a series featuring their ‘other’ alter-egos ‘Prue and Trude.’
If it goes ahead, the series is likely to be a travel format showing how the ‘refined’ pair deal with the harsh economic times.
Riley and Turner are said to be discussing the project with the Seven Network.
Filming was expected to start on a new series of Kath and Kim in August, but those plans have been delayed after Riley’s decision to star in the Melbourne leg of stage show Chicago.
Recently on Rove, Riley indicated Turner was keen to start penning new ideas. Both women are set to start a new round of creative sessions on TV projects next week.
McKenna says Seven was the likely network to show whatever project – Prue and Trude or Kath and Kim – the pair decided to make first.
“Seven were fantastic partners on Kath and Kim and we will be talking to them first,” he said.

I would love to see Kim’s jaw drop when she see’s Sharon’s new look – on her return from a health camp, perhaps? Maybe they go to one together but Kim fails miserably?

I’m not sure if it could sustain a whole 22 minute show (let alone a series). Then again, I thought that about Kath & Kim too, but Turner and Riley did brilliantly with that one.

Sounds great hope the new show does go ahead and we also get more Kath and Kim,Gina and Jane are so talented sure new show will be massive hit.Looking foward to having them back making us laugh.
Well Kath & Kim were two minute segments on Big Girls Blouse (the storylines for series 1 of K&K) and Something Stupid (the storylines for series 2) so why not include Prue and Trude? I think a mock travel show hosted by those two would be hilarious!
i’m sure if they did a full series their stories would be expanded from just the behind the counter scenes. we would be introduced to their husband and kids. (their kids both go to the same private school) so i think their own series could work fine.
I love K&K and also Prue & Trude, but they’re great in short skits. Not sure about a whole episode
Whatever their new series is – it’d be great to see Gina Riley and Jane Turner back on the box…Kath & KIm seems to have mined most obvious storylines already, so perhaps bringing Prude & Trude in to front a series will be fresher.
A travel series would have to include a Trip to the Snow with Jo from Gaggenau!
That’s stretching the concept a bit too far. They’re alright in small doses, i’ll give them that, but no way for a whole series.
