Returning: The Biggest Loser (US). Bumped: Harper’s Island. Gone: The Office

TEN makes changes to its Sunday line-up which is good news for fans of Bob & Jillian but not so good for Steve Carrell.

bjWell, that didn’t take long.

Only yesterday this site speculated that US drama Harper’s Island was likely to sink.

Today TEN  replaced it with the US version of The Biggest Loser, effective from 9:40pm this Sunday.

Harper’s Island moves to the ludicrous time of 1:25am Monday, which means The Office is (again) out of schedule.

May 24:
8:30pm Rove (As Scheduled)
9:40pm The Biggest Loser
11:10pm Formula One Grand Prix
1:25am Harper’s Island
2:25am Video Hits Up-Late

May 31:
8:30pm Rove
9:40pm The Biggest Loser
11:10pm Harper’s Island
12:10am Moto GP
2:25am Video Hits Up-Late

This week Harper’s Island took just 425,000 viewers. The show hasn’t exactly fired in the US either. Shame, it was a fun idea…

  1. Awesome I had been wanting to see the biggest loser USA ever since a friend got me hooked on the aus version in 2008 and now I get the chance to hopefully 10 wont pull it off and I will get to see the whole season

  2. My heart just broke, My favourite show The Office has been taken away, I wait and wait and wait for it. It’s the only show one Sunday that I watch with the exception of Merlin sometimes. Off to bed early then.

Worst of all when TEN screws around with The Office it pushes back the DVD release season 3 part 2 was only just release. 22 minutes thats all TEN, then you can do whatever you like I just want to watch it!!! Just schedule it and leave it please. I hate TEN for this and Sunday used to be the best night of TV, what has happened? This is a sad day for The Office fans out there

  3. “Why do I always pick the shows destined to be axed?” I commented at 5:04 pm. Really, why do I?
TEN should’ve at least kept The Office at its current timeslot and shifted Harper’s to the weekend, because people do have to go to work/school the next day!

  4. Ugh. Just as I start getting into The Office, Ten pulls it from their schedule for US fatties. I’ll be avoiding that timeslot like the plague.

  5. I’m not usually a fan of the genre, but I quite enjoy Harper’s Island. It’s made me think twice about where to stand at a wedding rehearsal.

  6. if i were in charge i would have cut it out this week and reurned it next week i mean 9:40, 1:25, 11:10, 11:10 wouldn’t it be better as: 9:40, not on, 11:10, 11:10. but one things for sure it couldn’t stay where it was.

i wonder how this will affect the competition? will CSI:NY and castle increase or decrease. i liked castle last on sunday but i think that will hurt more because it had very young demos.

  7. Geez 1.25 AM is a bit harsh. Even though this probably had little do do with its failure, i have seen start times of the show on other sites, saying that it started at 8.47 or similar. I have zero sympathy for 10 or the others when they still don’t get the message that people want shows to run on schedule, and their shows fail. 5 episodes in and the series is still enjoyable i have found.

  8. As a huge fan of the Office, i’d be outraged if I hadn’t downloaded the episodes Ten are up to at the moment, oh… about a year ago.

David, with Harpers moving past 1am I have a feeling SC Ten might just not show it and go with their infomercials instead.. any chance you could find out?
