  1. Wow 7 is really clutching at straws to repeat the thing twice in one week. Anybody with a modicum of intelligence will tell you this show and format is dire and it is such an easy and unintelligent form of comedy. Not surprisingly it’s rating terribly.

  2. I caught TV Burp on thursday and there is something about the host, he is rather engaging, he did an awesome job for such a format. Two thumbs up from me, some others hosts should take a leaf out of his book. Feel bad i did`nt catch his name… He he he

  3. I’ve seen the first episode of TV Burp and about half of the first ep of Double Take. While Double Take isn’t crash hot, it’s at least as good as TV Burp for me. The idea is there, but Ed Kavalee was a bit too rehearsed and wooden for me. It would be great if he was a bit more relaxed and casual like he was on radio (in fact, the very premise of the show reminds me of Get This).

  4. It is not too bad.

I would rather have things like this and double take over heavy medical dramas on a Thursday Night.

First time I have watched 7 on Thursdays since the Out of the Question/Family Guy Days

  5. TV Burp should be on at 8.30pm. @Barry, considering Thursday’s aren’t a big ratings night and if it cleans up in the younger demos Seven will stick with it. Even if it drops to 700k, they are already have the week won by Thursday and don’t need it to set the ratings on fire. The dude from Millionaire Hot Seat singing “Why Can’t We Be Friends” at the end of the show was hilarious.

  6. Seven has scheduled an encore of World’s Strictest Parents for 10am this Sunday in both Sydney & Brisbane. Also, Seven have scheduled a sneak peek of Flash Forward for Tuesday 8.30 in between Surf Patrol and Packed to the Rafters.

  7. If I’m home I’ll probably watch one of the repeats of this since I missed it due to Rush. Ed Kavalee does the job on TGYH but I liked him when he was on Nova FM’s Akmal and Cal Wilson Show, in 2007 IIRC.

  8. The dog food clip was very funny. It is getting better with each show.
Unfortunately, with those ratings, I give it two more episodes before either axing or shifting.

  9. That bit with Declan was brilliant and he actually just found out didge had died. I think he also got highlight of the week emptying a can of dog food lol

  10. TV Burp is one of my current TV highlights (“TV highlight of the weeeeeek!!!”) they make things that are not in the least bit funny the most bit funny. Especially Declan coughing up a hairball on Neighbours.

Double Take is also quite good.

  11. I like most of the show, some parts even make me cry. I think someone has left the fan on or something like that because Eds head wobbles like crazy, its like watching a bobble head doll when your going over speed humps. Great show.

  12. Agree with some of the comments posted – I was surprised by how witty some of the writing for TV Burp is. However, Double Take is a disaster. Aside from the guy who does Kochie and K Rudd (who is pretty clever!) the other impersonations are dreadful, and don’t even come close to being funny. Repeating is a great idea – grow that audience 7!

  13. I don’t get why they went with a stylised direction with TV Burp? What’s with the callback to 60s-70s style TV comedy? It doesn’t fit at all for a show about modern TV.

Less dumb close-ups and winking at the camera, please. They are totally unnecessary and makes the already cheap nature of the show look even cheaper.

  14. I gave it a go last week but couldn’t be bothered last night. It’s not the worst thing on TV but also not fabulous and I can’t see too many making it “appointment television”

  15. Huh?? Why??? TV Burp is quite good, far better than Double Take. But Seven need to find a better program for 8.30 Thurs and have TV Burp at 9.30.
