As the US Fall Season nears it’s time to take stock of the shows in the US that are not moving forward (including two Aussie adaptations).
Whilst many of us are up to speed on most of these, sometimes one or two escape out attention, and others kinda never get cancelled but remain in permanent hiatus.
For the record here is the list of those that are no more:
ABC has cancelled Cupid, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, In the Motherhood, Kyle XY, Life on Mars, Pushing Daisies, Samantha Who, Surviving Suburbia, and The Unusuals.
CBS cancelled Eleventh Hour, The Ex List, Harper’s Island, The Unit, Without a Trace and Worst Week.
FOX has cancelled: King of the Hill, Prison Break, Sit Down Shut Up, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
NBC has called it quits with: Crusoe, Kath and Kim, Kings, Knight Rider, Life, Lipstick Jungle, Medium (moving to CBS), My Name is Earl, My Own Worst Enemy.
The CW has cancelled Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, Privileged, and Reaper.
In cable FX has cancelled The Riches; TNT ends Saving Grace; USA Network says no more to The Starter Wife; and A&E cancels The Beast (which airs shortly on ABC1).
There’s also a few other series we’re yet to see here including Reaper, The Unusuals, Knight Rider and Crusoe.

Night rider
The way the script was going and written it disappointed a lot of the fans who followed the orgional TV series in the 80’s on on DVD.
There expressions of their disapproval was expressed on the NBC official web forums, of which i was a member.

Despite the producers realizing something needed to be changed, it was too late as the head honcho’s execs sitting on the top on NBC drinking “red cordial” decided to pull the plug or that invisible device Steve Vizard was pulling to make that sound effect on his now extinct late night TV show.
As for the axing of Samantha Who and Life on Mars And Eil Stone, perhaps it is the execs who should be getting the sack by the viewing public. If only we had the power.
I don’t spend a lot of time in front of the TV but the program my wife and I used to watch religiously was Eli Stone.
How can Harper’s Island be cancelled? I saw the whole season, and I wasn’t aware there was going to be another one when Season One was so nicely wrapped up. Odd.
And they cancelled the Unit and Kyle XY? Do they have an allergy to quality shows? I’ll still be buying them on DVD. And as for Pushing Daisies, I never got to see that but I always heard it was good, so that’s disappointing. And the Sarah Connor Chronicles, how I loved that :(
