Hey Hey repeats on GO!

Updated: Both Hey Hey reunions get a second screening this Saturday night on GO! and the first reunion on Nine a week later.

hh9Nine will repeat both Hey Hey it’s Saturday reunions this Saturday night on GO!

The marathon/s will air from 6pm – 8:30pm and 8:30 – 11pm.

Nine pulled the first repeat last Saturday resulting in fan fury, amid speculation it would damage the ratings for the second show.

Update: But the repeat of the second show will not include the now infamous ‘Blackface’ sketch.

As a result the Dance Your Ass Off finale and channel premieres of Father of the Pride and Reno 911 all shift to October 17th.

Update: The first Hey Hey reunion will also screen on Nine 7:30pm Oct 17.

  2. @ Paull…. hey hey was film in HD.
and no they will not increase the bitrate.
GO! is not that bad…. if your viewing it on a lcd or plasma that had a built-in tuner..its very acceptable…but if your watching it via a set top box which is going into your dvd then onto your tv..then yes the quality is not that good.

  3. @ David Knox says: “DVD could face right issues with guests such as Connick Jr. & Farnsy etc.”

It’ll be alright … they can just cut that out too! Lose the musical performances (rights & licensing issues), Mollys bits (7 & Fox wouldn’t probably wouldn’t like it), and the Red Faces skit, I can picture it now … Hey Hey the Reunion DVD Box Set, featuring highlights from the two special comeback broadcasts (6+ hours of Daryl, Daryl, and a bit more Daryl)

    Hmm, maybe not.

  4. Pretty lame that Nein are going to edit it, might as well not bother…

The only ppl offended are the yanks, and frankly, who cares what they think.

  5. I wonder how the Jackson sketch will be cut out.

Am I the only one who found the Bike Guy more offensive than the Jacksons? I mean he was throwing knives, dealing with fire and used with sounded like a chainsaw. All the Jacksons did were dance to Jackson 5 songs with 5 of them wearing black make-up and 1 wearing white make-up.

I found the Burpinator’s (sp?) skit quite weak. Apart from Red Faces it was a fairly enjoyable show.

  6. Hasn’t Nine even realised that the shows go overtime? First pre-recorded shows going overtime, and now pre-aired shows going overtime? Honestly I don’t think they check at all how long their shows go for.
@Ellis, perhaps it is useless for you but have you considered that maybe not for people with digital recorders?
@stud muffin, just so you know, you don’t need HD to receive the GO channel.

  7. > So, won’t be able to do tape it on Go! now either….
You can connect most STBs to VCRs. Easiest if the set top box has a RF Modulator, but most VCRs take composite input (Red/White/Yellow plugs) as well.

If you are reading this site and don’t have a STB at all I’m surprised, but if you do, then you most likely can tape it. And there will surely be a DVD along if you can’t figure it out.

  8. Ben- maybe the bitrate is good where you are but it isn’t in a lot of other places. are you regional by any chance? they have the best bitrate i hear. in qld it was really bad at the start, got a fair bit better after a few weeks, but lately it has started getting worse again, 11th hour last night was pretty bad. it fluctuates, sometimes it is good, other times it is bad.

  9. Why not Nine! Does Daryl want to prevent a ratings ruin-er? Maybe just wait 2 weeks or so then air the show form say 6:30-9.26 for reunion 1 then a week later 6.30-9.56 for reunion 2. This might help all those who still can’t see it.

  10. They said this before, how they were going to repeat the show last Saturday night and it did not happen!! What happens to those who don’t have HD Tv and missed the show on Wednesday night?
    Will see what happens??

  11. Considering Go! Isn’t on Foxtel, nor can you get an analogue signal to record it, then it’s really quite useless. I taped both episodes and made sure to allow for overtime and still missed the endings!!! So, won’t be able to do tape it on Go! now either….

  12. Er, who really gives a flying **** about whether Go! airs HHR with a higher or lower BR! I mean, at least it is being repeated, what else would you like nine to do? Release the 2 reunion specials on Blu-Ray as well?

  13. This is great news. And I hope they don’t edit anything out!! Plus won’t it go after midnight because the first one went about 20mins over and the second one went 55mins over. If it starts at 6pm it won’t finish until 12:15am… Pushing programs back..

  14. Surely they could correct the running times to 6.00 – 9.00 and 9.00 – 12.30am or are they going to edit or reduce ads?

Good news though, I was one of these people who were waiting to see last weeks’ on Saturday as I simply could not fit it in on Wednesday.

  15. Good move on 9’s part. A shame though that GO! has such a low bit rate because it looked good on the hi-def channel (even though I don’t think it was filmed in HD). Maybe we’ll see increased bit-rate once GO! starts airing local ads for each market.
