..and here come the Nine shows

Updated: Ahead of ratings Nine has The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Without a Trace, CSI: NY, Cold Case, Getaway, 20 to 1, Customs, cricket and more.

Nine has now advised its schedule for the week of January 31st (sent late last night, possibly after confirming Seven’s plans published here?).

In the lead-up to official ratings it will return new Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Getaway, 20 to 1, air new episodes of CSI: NY, Without a Trace, Cold Case and conclude Survivor: Samoa.

It also begins a new season of Customs, now narrated by Damian Walshe-Howling instead of Vince Colosimo.

Nine has one week of official ratings from February 7th before the Winter Olympics begin on February 13th. It appears to be treading water with programming to hold off its big guns until March -but we won’t know that for another week.

In further changes, Nine has amended programming for next Wednesday January 27th with two Cold Case repeats from 8:30pm and the return of Without a Trace at 10:30pm. This effectively knocks Waking the Dead out of schedule a second time.

  1. Kenny says:
“Where’s the $2M-a-week Warner Bros content?”

That’s a damn good question – for that price you’d expect a ripper lineup compared to the grewl they just served up.

  2. i know they are holding off for the winter olympics, but surely they can be more competitive than that in such an important week. that schedule is not much better than their summer schedule.

  3. It’s funny seeing Nine aimlessly trying to hype the Winter Olympics. haven’t watched any junk on Nine for a couple of years now, won’t start anytime soon. Two and a Half Men and Underbelly; you again.

  4. They’re not mentioned, but looking at Nine’s bogan audience’s lack of interest in scifi, the ‘V’ series Nine are running promos on, I don’t see it lasting more than 2 episodes, till it’s moved over to Go. The ‘Human Target’ (the pilot was filmed almost 2 years ago) spy action series that Nine are running promos on, should be a very good rater for them.

Unless Nine decide to stupidly onsell it to Foxtel, The Ricky Gervais Show they’ll have the rights to through HBO, will probably be a much better fit on Go as well, as it’ll probably be MA rated series (it’ll be animated, it’s not live action) like Family Guy also is, they won’t be able to show till at least 10 or 10.30 pm on Nine’s standard channel.

If Nine could get Supernatural and Smallville back (which they both stupidly onsold to Ten) off of Ten and screen them on Go, that”d also be admirable.

  5. Honestly how hard is it to make a 21st Century The Price is Right and find a new host for the programme.
Nine should know that the ACA audience used to stick around for what was for many years Sale of the Century and later Temptation.
Another option what about some looney tunes cartoons like what most of us remember watching after school.I loved my tweety bird and bugs bunny as a kid

  6. Looks like ill be having a few nights out on the town during the first few weeks after the tennis is over. Because nothing seems overly exciting on any channel.

  7. I’ve just watched the first 4 V episodes. Found then quite good. Nine may as well stop adveristing the show now and just give it to Fox 8. The show will not rate in Australia and will be moved to a non prime time slot by episode 6 and then off the air by episode 8. It will be the Sarah Connor Chronicles all over again.

  8. Two and a half men…the saga continues

Wasn’t the programming dude from 9 harping on about resting that show for a while a few months ago and providing some alternatives?

I see little reason to reconsider switching over to 9
