..and here come the Nine shows

Updated: Ahead of ratings Nine has The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Without a Trace, CSI: NY, Cold Case, Getaway, 20 to 1, Customs, cricket and more.

Nine has now advised its schedule for the week of January 31st (sent late last night, possibly after confirming Seven’s plans published here?).

In the lead-up to official ratings it will return new Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Getaway, 20 to 1, air new episodes of CSI: NY, Without a Trace, Cold Case and conclude Survivor: Samoa.

It also begins a new season of Customs, now narrated by Damian Walshe-Howling instead of Vince Colosimo.

Nine has one week of official ratings from February 7th before the Winter Olympics begin on February 13th. It appears to be treading water with programming to hold off its big guns until March -but we won’t know that for another week.

In further changes, Nine has amended programming for next Wednesday January 27th with two Cold Case repeats from 8:30pm and the return of Without a Trace at 10:30pm. This effectively knocks Waking the Dead out of schedule a second time.

  1. Hopefully they will leave ‘Without A Trace’ on long enough this time that we can see the final episode but they are p-s-ing me off with ‘Waking The Dead’, one minute it is going to be on then it’s not come on CH 9 make your mind up & I don’t see CSI anywhere….;(

  2. @kyall The Forgotten is going to get canned once the 13 episodes ABC ordered are burnt through, it’s new run episodes get poundings by Jay Leno repeats. It will probably air on GO! or never see Australian TV at all.

@ Johnny, yes, BBT is overrated, unfortunately, lazy writing, cable TV and the internet, has made BBT pretty much the best sitcom outside of 2.5 men I know of. Long gone are the days of Friends, Frasier, Cheers and Raymond, and even more long gone are the days of Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore… it’s a pity sitcom dies in this fashion I doubt there will be another The Cosby Show that is able to single handedly revive the sitcom genre.

  3. my god david u sure your On Hiatus u seem to be doing a lot of bloggin lately bout the line up for channel ha but thank u for u work dont know were we would be without this site and when ar u going to finsh your Hiatus maybe feb 1

oh and quickly when are the pay tv rating coming back ive been missing them

  4. Funny thing Television I have not found anything of interest on Nine for years ,and if what they are offering is any indication of future programming I can’t see that changing……yet I just can’t get enough of GO, it is now the most watched channel in the house does this make me mad or are there other viewers out in TV land just like myself who thinks that Channel Nine has just got it all back to front and seriously wrong.

  5. This is what i think Nine should do after the Olympics:

    Sunday 6:30 20 to 1 7:30 60 Minutes 8:30 Underbelly 9:30 Human Target
Monday 7:30 Two and a Half Men – New 8:00 The Big Bang Theory 8:30 The Mentalist 9:30 The Forgotten
Tuesday 7:30 Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains 8:30 V 9:30 CSI: Miami
Wednesday 7:30 AFP 8:00 Customs 8:30 Top Gear 9:30 Cold Case
Thursday 7:30 Getaway 8:30 CSI 9:30 CSI: NY

Hopefully they’ll get destroyed by Seven and Ten anyway 😀 Can’t stand channel Nine 🙂

  6. alternately Aznfratboy, Channel Nine could use this schedule:

    2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men, 2.5 Men.

    oh wait, they already do.

  7. Perhaps Channel 9 could use a schedule I’ve come up with, that way they don’t get all the hate for Two and a Half Men repeats during primetime.

Sunday 6:30 20 to 1 7:30 60 minutes 8:30 CSI Miami 9:30 Past Life (launch it out of an existing series)
Monday 7:30 Men and Big Bang Theory 8:30 The Mentalist [don’t break their winning combo) 9:30 V (launch their most promoted show on a night where they’re kicking ass!
Tuesday 7:30 Survivor (heroes vs villians) 8:30 Cold Case then Underbelly Burn off Cold Case, then air some crap between May when Cold Case gets the chop in the US, then put Underbelly in a timeslot where it might be able to take down two big shows, NCIS and Rafters. 9:30 Amazing Medical Stories
Wednesday 7:30 Top Gear 8:30 CSI NY 9:30 Human Target (key word here is “launch”)
Thursday 7:30 Getaway 8:30 CSI 9:30 Rescue Special Ops
Friday 7:30 Motorway Patrol and Rapid Response 8:30 AFP [let’s keep the Cops rip-offs to a crappy night] 9:30 Movies
Saturday 6:30 Funniest Videos 7:30 Hey Hey, movies, repeats, who cares, it’s Saturday.

This way, they air the CSI trilogy in the same order as US, so if any crossovers occur, it won’t go into midnight… Also, they don’t get stuck with having the same three shows airring repeatedly.. over and over and over again.

  8. what a joke 9 you’re still a joke two and a half men 6 times a week repeats for the millionish time and 1 new episode what happened to a new start what a joke 9 and half stupid men channel!!!!

  9. Looks good especially new 2 1/2 Men and Big Bang :). Hope new Mentalist continues on Monday and CSI:Miami should follow it. Both will clash with 7’s shows at the time for me. Tuesdays will change and I’m guessing Top Gear for Tuesdays and maybe V. Nine have a chance here to regain power as the is no Rafters til at least June and All Saints is long gone. Only Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays look good for me and eventually Sundays. Nine will hope that Underbelly and Hey Hey will do well and both look strong. I also hope The Middle continues and that we see the rest of Without A Trace even if its at 10:30pm.

  10. Im suprised that they have dumped the middle. Should have just kept it in there was doing relatively well and would have done better with a bigger lead in. Surpised also that nine have a lot of new stuff. Nine have hardly anything anyway why waste it in summer?
