Susan Boyle cancels Logies appearance

It just has to happen. Susan Boyle has cancelled her Aussie tour with Logies and Hey Hey it's Saturday appearances now out.

It just has to happen.

Susan Boyle has cancelled her Australian visit.

The Scottish singer will no longer appear at the Logie Awards or on Hey Hey it’s Saturday.

“Regrettably, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our Australian visit for the Logies in May,” her manager Andy Stephens said.

“We want to apologise to all Susan’s Australian fans and look forward to coming to Australia later in the year.”

The singer’s representatives decided Boyle needs time to recuperate from promotional tours before heading back into the recording studio. Earlier this week it was reported that Boyle threw a tantrum with her assistant, a relative, at Heathrow Airport, following a flight was delayed after she was returning from a visit to Japan.

Sony are now hoping to book Boyle to launch her second album in November, which will probably mean a Hey Hey appearance can be rescheduled.

  1. Whew, we’ve dodged a bullet there.

A mediocre winner of a British talent quest. What relevance does she have to Australia, other than that the great unwashed have been convinced by media hype to believe that she is something other than this.

  2. They were given over 2 weeks notice so what’s the big deal?
These things happen all the time.
It’s not like this was a concert where people bought tickets.
I never understood why they’d travel that distance for something like that in the first place.

  3. Well I’m sure they could get someone else who’s won a TV singing contest, if it was on a Friday or Saturday night they’d all be out doing nightclub appearances to score a couple of free shots!

  4. I would love to see Kylie sing at the Logies or ACDC or Marica Hines. Since Neighbours is having an anniversary this year then they should ask Kylie to come and sing. That will be good to see.

  5. Another disaster for the 2010 Logies… First the PR, now this.

As for the Boyle segment: Either bring in that Smasen Boyle from Japan or re-do one of our great Logies moments from the past, or even, of all things: add a second Hall of Fame inductee as a Logies first…

  6. Well if Ms Boyle can’t make it why not draft in former Mod Squad star Michael Cole?

Having him appear with Bert as host once again would just be like old times – and infintately more entertaining than Ms Boyle surely would have been!

Seriously they can easily replace her with an Australian singer or maybe someone that is actually a ‘star’??

  7. I think her manager or even Susan herself saw the online poll about her visit. I think it was close to 80% of voters voted against her coming down under. Not sure of the amount of voters or validity of the poll though.

  8. Well they could ask Kate Ceberano. Wendy Matthews, Chrissie Amphlett. Deb Conway, Jenny Morris, Renee Geyer, Marcia Hines, Melinda Schneider, Olivia Newton John, Beccy Cole, Delta Goodrem, Claire Bowditch, Holly Throsby, Natalie Imbruglia, Kasey Chambers, Lisa Mitchell, Kate Miller Heidke, Orianthi, Veronicas, Gabriela Cilmi….

  9. Seems she’s always throwing tantrums and needing time to recuperate.

Great news anyway and a shame she’ll eventually appear on Hey Hey 🙁

Here’s hoping for another tanty later in the year!

  10. I was looking forward to seeing Susan in Australia – this is a real shame. I hope she makes it here in Nov!
Who will the Logies organisers get now?
