On Wednesday July 7th Hey Hey it’s Saturday won’t be resting despite the third State of Origin match.

Instead it will air live into Melbourne at 7:30pm but play at 10:30pm in Sydney and Brisbane.

Adelaide and Perth times will be 7:30pm local as usual.

  1. leagueFreak: They certainly weren’t the most watched programs in Melb, Adel or Perth. In Melbourne MasterChef had tripled the audience of the Origin game, while the Adelaide figure was beaten by Sunrise’s morning figure

  2. Hey Hey its Thursday morning! I still tune in, but it is an anachronism in a market filled with talent quests, cooking shows and actuality programs. Variety and Entertainment seem a thing of the past! They would be better served making it event television once a month and themed programs to give each a distinctive flavour. The old formula seems okay only to a degree. Nine have to be concerned

  3. Any word on what is happening in Darwin and Hobart? But as normally we don’t count as real capital cities, why should I be surprised we miss out on Hey Hey.

  4. You’d think that Nine will have SoO at 9:30-10pm (after Hey Hey) in the southern capitals, but really it should be live.

I’ll still watching SoO 3, I want to see how the Baby Blues go.

  5. It’s appalling that Nine aren’t airing SOO live into Melbourne (or Adelaide or Perth). It’s one of the biggest sporting events in Australia, and even though this game is a dead rubber it will still receive a lot of interest – witness Game 3 last year, which was the best game of the series despite Qld having already wrapped it up. Nine’s treatment of rugby league really is shocking sometimes, hopefully the NRL fixes up these issues in the next TV deal.

  6. I assume that Nine are doing this because they are worried that SOO III won’t rate well, as the series has already been decided. They will be hoping that they can still win the night by adding Hey Hey.

  7. @Patrick, I watch the show, and so do many others I know. I still think it is the most important show on TV currently outside of the various news related programs. Only thing is I don’t have a ratings box. I’ve never met or known anyone who does have one of these mysterious ratings boxes either.

  8. Oh that’s interesting! Probably good in some aspects though as with SOO interrupting Hey Hey continuously some people I know thought Hey Hey wasn’t on the following week for whatever reason and so missed it. Now it is on but just at a later time for some.

  9. Maybe it’s a sign Nine is going cold on Hey Hey and just wants to burn off the contract? How maybe people do they think will wait up watching it until after midnight?

  10. So when are we getting the 3rd game of State Of Origin in Perth?????

Perhaps bloody Midnight like the rest, what a bastard channel 9 really are.

    Sack the lot of them!!!!!

  11. Well one wonders whether the so called fans will actually tune in as they’ve been noticeably absent the last several weeks.

They come on here and defend the show and plead with others to watch it, and yet the ratings continue to slide.

Where are all of those who joined the Facebook group, etc?? Without their support the show is doomed.

It hasn’t updated its style and is still stuck in a mid 90’s rut. The low ratings do not justify the huge production costs.

I’m happy for anyone to disagree with me, but please put your money where you mouth is and actually WATCH the show!!!!!!!!

  12. So what times State of Origin in Adelaide?? What we have to keep flicking over every half hour to see if Hey Hey It’s Not Saturday has finished yet!!!
