Nine 2010: Pt II

Nine has spruiked its upcoming shows for 2010 to advertisers... here are the promised shows.

Nine has spruiked its upcoming shows for 2010 to advertisers in a glam showreel fronted by Kate Ritchie and Damian Walshe-Howling.

Top Gear Australia will launch with an “international special event.” The Farmer Wants a Wife has “a new twist.” Big promises to be a supersized version of The Biggest Loser but has “no tricks, no competitions and no humiliation” hosted by Deborah Hutton. Random Acts of Kindness features Karl Stefanovic, Simone Jade-McKinnon and Scott Cam. Russell Crowe again narrates The Secret Millionaire.

Cricket will start earlier, in November.

GO! will fastrack Season 3 of Fringe, Season 2 of V, Season 2 of Community, Season 2 of The Middle and Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries. There will be new seasons of Wife Swap and Wipeout.

  1. I am surprised that there are a few shows on the list that look interesting to me – channel 9 dont usaully have any shows that appeal to me. Also glad to see Fringe and V on the fastrack list.

  2. No word on fast tracking season six of Weeds. I was hoping that Go! would screen the season on the back of season five (which they are currently showing)

  3. Looks like i still won’t be watching any Nine cos looks like more crap. Only thing i watch on Nine is Survivor & Footy Classified, oh and record NRL Footy Show at 12am and if Titans game is on. Other than that i skip the channel.

Might check out S#*! My Dad Says

  4. what the?? fast-tracking The Middle Season 2? they haven’t even finished airing Season 1 yet. with all these Big Bang and 2.5 Men Marathons they’ve been playing, they could have easily been airing The Middle instead. If the new US eps start in mid/late September, they’re gonna have to catch up real fast if they wanna fast-track season 2! only 8 eps have aired for season 1 on both 9 and GO!

  5. Sounds awful. Is Cops LACking originality the only Aussie drama? Kate Ritchie to rescue? I think the audience is way smarter than this. Police procedurals are on the nose – the figures for City Homicide speak for themselves.

harrys law is not starting in the USA till early 2011 so how is 9 showing it in 2010?

Are you sure about that? Reading various blogs about what is coming to US TV recently, Harry’s Law is scheduled to start in September/October 2010.

Past Life – The US have stopped airing this show after five episodes (only 7 were made). Fox recently announced they would not air the final two episodes hence I guess why it is no longer on the Nine list.

David with Dark Blue (a great show by the way), will that be Season 1 or Season 2…the latter is scheduled to commence in the US early August 2010.

  7. I’m a little disappointend that Money for Jam and What’s Good for you are more than like not to come back but I’m really excited to see a lot of new shows especially Nikita, AFP, Big and When I Grow Up and the second season of V!

  8. Nice fast track list but how fast is fast, they claim to be fast tracking new Top Gear but it will be a month after the UK, oh and I guess no launch date for TGA yet?. I know Vampire Diaries was the same week but what of the others and have they caught up with The Middle yet, last I heard it had been removed. Also does this mean V is no longer on the main channel?

Good to see Southland on GO! but it’s a bit late isn’t it and yes what has happened to Human Target, Nine promised it so long ago most would have forgotten it.

  9. Interested in watching Survivor, Sherlock, Undercovers, Mike & Molly and Nikita on 9 as well as Hellcats and Hung Jnr (aka The Hard Times of RJ Berger) on Go.

Which of course means they’ll soon end up on the list of shows which were promised, but never arrive.

  10. Are they kidding. I can smell that pile from here. Sh@t my dad says and The Boss is coming to Dinner (why on earth would you do that??)

The Gruen competition for the worst ad should be reworked for the worst programming. Would love to see Nine presented with a polished gold tu#d – it would be so fitting

  11. typical that the ones I was interested in (Human Target, Past Life, The Forgotten) have disappeared. The fastracking on GO! sounds good but who knows what will end up happening with the shamozzle they have made of that channel lately.

  12. I’d like to see how Nine play Mr Sunshine this year considering it is a midseason replacement in the US and isn’t scheduled to start over in the US till January 2011.

And Go sounds promising but with all the constant scheduling changes I wouldn’t hold my breath to watch majority of those shows uninterrupted (i.e. slot moves etc not on delay because of US airings)
