Returning: World’s Strictest Parents

Seven's observational hit series returns with three families in the USA, one in South Africa and one even in Australia.

Seven’s observational series World’s Strictest Parents returns 7:30pm Wednesday July 14th.

Last year the show which temporarily places Aussie teenagers with families abroad was a surprise hit for the network, averaging around 1.5m viewers.

Each week two teens aged 16 or 17 are followed by cameras with three families in the USA, one in South Africa and one even in Australia. While one family in the Press Kit appears African-American, the rest look very Anglo-Saxon. English is probably the first language of all families. For a show that trades on its international flavour it might be nice if there were more diverse cultures (what about a family from Russia, China, Mexico, India next time or is that too SBS for Seven?).

Narrated once again by Axle Whitehead, the first episode includes a Baptist family in Atlanta.

  1. Is this just going to be another series of the British version (With Axle Whitehead voiceover) or are Seven waiting ’til Masterchef finishes to show the Australian version.
