This could almost be one for 7mate….
Barbara Walters is developing a “unisex” spinoff of The View that will add a male perspective.
The spinoff, from Walters and co-creator Bill Geddie, would feature five co-hosts discussing a range of topical subjects as an afternoon offering when Oprah winds up her show. It will be produced in L.A. instead of New York.
Former Today show host Bryant Gumbel is one name being floated as a possible regular while comedian Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty), former BET news anchor Jacque Reid and former FOX News host E.D. Hill are are also said to be on the wish list (which one is the new Elisabeth Hasselbeck?).
An ABC spokesman declined to comment.

Hope it won’t be a socially engineered stereotype “work of fiction” like we see in all those pathetic ads.
They should get Russell Hantz as the Male Hasselback.
Doesn’t the fact that E.D Hill is a blonde conservative make her the obvious choice to be the Hasselbeck of the new show?
It won’t work. Too emasculating. =P
I thought that was The Man Show
Hopefully Bryant becomes a regular he was great as a guest mod on The View. I have fond memories of him hosting NBC Today in the 80’s/90’s and would love to see him back on tv.
Does that mean Barbara will be on both ?
so they will be looking for the male version of hassleback. there is plenty of them on redneck news aka fox news
Tool Time?
Didn’t they do something similar on The Simpsons?
