It took a Brisbane streaker to spice up the Liberal Party launch coverage on SKY News yesterday.
While host Kieran Gilbert was talking to three newspaper reporters outdoors, the culprit made a quick run, shouting something about refugees. Not quite the headline-grabber as Merlin’s “Free the Refugees” protest on Big Brother, but it was another example of why we love live telly.
Now all we need is another streaker to run past shouting something about ABC News 24.

Oh yes they call him The Streak, fastest thing on two feet!!
Maybe the Libs should have rehashed the old Ray Stevens’ hit as their campaign song 🙂
It doesn’t matter since according to many next to no one has Sky News anyway, now if they streaked outside the Sunrise studios or while Grant did the weather then we’d hear about it LOL
Well Bazza, all of the problems with today’s big issue of public decency seem to involve young people. I’ve also had it on good advice from friends of mine that some young people even smoke marajuana. Since we are on a TV site, think about all of the TV police shows. Who are the leading trouble makers? That’s right – young people!
I hope I detect irony there otherwise I may have to draw the line on ageism bashing….
@ Bazza
And you oldies invented streaking in the 70s? Haven’t you ever heard of Lady Godiva? 😛
@Richard Connell
Did young people today invent streaking? Haven’t you ever heard of all the streakers at the cricket in the 1970s?
Won’t somebody think of the children?
@Ashton, i believe the NZ version has an extra 2 hours of NZ local news from 7pm NZ time but i could be wrong, but the rest is the same
That’s terrible, what is it with young people these days?
Is Sky News New Zealand & Australia the same channel and air the same programs? Is the only difference the Prime News at 5.30pm?
