TEN preparing 2011 launch

Is it that time of year again already? By mid-September, TEN will rollout its 2011 Programme Launch.

Is it that time of year again already?

By mid-September, TEN will rollout its 2011 Programme Launch revealing its plans for next year, in city-hosted events.

No doubt set to capitalise on the October Commonwealth Games, the Launch is much earlier than its 2010 Launch which was late October.

This week has been dicey for TEN with the woes of Don’t Stop Believing in the UK as well as NBC pulling Breakthrough with Tony Robbins after just two episodes.

It may also be where we learn if Hamish and Andy are to appear more on the network. The latest speculation on the two today notes the two may end their radio career in favour of more TV work.

Their radio contract ends at the end of the year.

Could mid-September also be when we will discover plans for a new digital channel from TEN and changes for 6 – 7pm?

The Launch will be pitched to both Advertisers and Media at once.

All will be revealed soon enough…

  1. Looking forward to Tens news channel. Hopefully we get stuff like supernatural, 90210, dexter. As for neighbours and fixing 6-7. Maybe ten can do this

    TEN – 5.00 Ten News, 5.30 Neighbours, 6.00 – 7.00 Ten News, 7.00 7PM
TEN 2 – 6.00 Simpsons, 6.30 Neighbours (Encore), 7.00 Malcolm in the Middle

  2. Dare I say it, Neighbours does not need TEN, the UK pays for it anyways, it may well survive TENs axe, I see no reason the production company would stop making it, if the UK still made it profitable for them to do so.

Only problem would be attracting good Australians actors, who might rather work on something that is seen in Australia.

  3. I thought this article was going to be on the third channel from 10 as it only showed 11 in the picture on the home page. That will teach me not to read the headline!

  4. @Peter, no Neighbours will never get axed as long as overseas sales continue to make a profit. Whether the show rates poorly in Australia or not, it doesn’t matter, it is pretty much funded by overseas aquisitions so Ten don’t care. They do wish that it got more ratings though.
The rumoured plan is to move Neighbours to the new digital channel in 2011, I’d expect around the same timeslot though.

  5. @ashley

hell yeah, then ten can finally redeem themselves with sn fans. I am strugglign to find anything to watch on Ten i used to have heaps. Go is my fav channel atm

  6. The thing I really like about 10 is that it isn’t in cloning mode like 7 & 9.

Bring on TEN-tertainment, 10 needs that 3rd channel badly.

One is building nicely with some fantastic new acquisitions.

  7. TEN need the 3rd channel just to be competitive. Imagine them adding another 2-4% to the network share each night it’d look respectable, even though I think multichannels should not be combined with the main network; every channel should compete by itself; obviously the expectations of the digital only channels would be lower.

ONE just is not adding anything to TEN and would imagine the audience that does watch it now is mostly watching the HD telecast anyway.

  8. Does that mean that Neighbours will be axed? I hope not, All Neighbours needs is a better and stronger lead in or a timeslot change, maybe scheduling Neighbours at 7pm or 7:30pm.

  9. 6-7pm?

Does that mena that Neighbours will be axed? I hope not, All Neighbours needs is a better and stronger lead in or a timeslot change, maybe scheduling Neighbours at 7pm or 7:30pm.
