Toybox, a new series for preschoolers will premiere next month on Seven.
Aimed at 2-5 year olds, it centres around a toy box coming to life, with songs, drawings, spelling and number activities, plus dance and movement sequences.
The live characters include a funky doll named Tina (Brittany Byrnes) who is energetic and sporty; her adventure dol friend Tom (Riley Nottingham) who loves exploring and being creative; Patches, the shy cute rag doll (Ranee Clayton); and toy robot Super Ned (Leighton Young) who loves rescuing. Puppeteers Roslyn Oades and Sean Masterson handle toy rabbits, Remy and Rici.
Seven Supervising Producer of Children’s Television Sue Keating said: “It’s an enormously fun and high quality preschool show, with unforgettable music and loveable characters that are bound to become household names. The cast and crew, led by Ian Munro and Ron Saunders, have worked tirelessly to produce a magical kids show we can all be very proud of.”
Series Producer and Director, Ian Munro said: “Toybox is a very special mix. Kids love the excitement of a good story to make discoveries about their world and to work things out themselves. Add the hi-energy singing and dancing and Toybox has it all.”
It premieres 3.30pm October 14th on Seven.

My little girl just loves Toybox! As soon as it comes on, she freezes and doesn’t take her eyes of the screen. Thank god for Tivo, as I had to record a few episodes so she can keep watching it. Will a DVD be available anytime soon?

My 11 month old Loves this show, the songs are so catchy and he is just mesmerized by it!!!!!
I don’t mind this show , but the 2 rabbits and patches’ voice are all kinda Really annoying. But Tom is kinda hot 🙂
Tom looks more like Indiana Jones than Woody , imo.
The only peace and quiet I get of a morning and afternoon is when Toybox is on. I tell my 14 month old son that Toybox is on and he stops whatever he is doing to come and watch, and he doesnt take his eyes off the tv the whole time. I would love to buy it on DVD too.
Tina was also on the show H20 Just add water. Thought I’d recognised her from somewhere.
Has anyone been able to find toy box on DVD? My daughter loves this show, I actually don’t mind it either. Please let me know if you have 🙂
pyper loves to Dance and sing to the songs. Also we have been looking to if there is a DVD out of Toybox and where we could get one?
I really liked the Toybox show when they sang the rescue song, and when they rescued the ball.
I really liked it when they did the numbers.
David could you please post a story about sevens new series ‘Spit It Out, Elliot Spencer’ is proably the best host ever.
@AJ – that is so inappropriate (and hilarious).
Tom looks like Woody from Toy Story.
I think I’ll just wait for the inevitable porn parody.
Spit It Out is an exciting fast paced word game that requires lateral thinking and loads of teamwork. Hosted by Elliot Spencer. (7 EPG)
Seven’s new 4pm Children’s show starts on Monday afternoon called Spit It Out.
