I hadn’t planned a Hiatus until after ratings end in December, but as I am moving house this week it has become necessary to take a little time out.
Rather than stop the site completely I have opted to try and log a few stories each morning, same policy as weekends.
However I will make use of Twitter for extra news updates during this time at twitter.com/tvtonightau (remember that “chat” via Twitter only works where both parties are actually following one another). The Twitter link is also provided in the top menu.
I plan to resume the site at full speed next week -and as a bit of a thankyou, will introduce an added new feature.
TV Tonight hasn’t missed a day of news since it started nearly four years ago. I’ll do my best to uphold that record guys, although it may prove highly ambitious for the second part of the week….
Appreciate your patience during this time.
Media will be advised of new contact details soon.
Now excuse me while I get back to some empty brown boxes….UGH!

I obviously spent too much time drawing them in my mates’ schoolbooks but whenever I see <3 I can't help but think of a penis and testicles. Prob says more about me, I know.
David, I really appreciate all the effort you put into this site to make it so up to date and interesting. Thanks heaps!
Good Luck with the move.
Cheers
Steve
I <3 Gavid.
I think Gavid is a bit possessive of the site, doesn’t want anyone else to help him. He should get help.
No idea who Gavid is but have you counted how many solo blogs there are around the world? Blogs actually started as people writing their thoughts online, just as this one did. Could be it’s only that due to this gear change you’re noticing how much work is actually invested in output every single day. Cheers.
Do you need a hand? I’m sure there’s a percentage of people on here that have nothing better to do, fresh air will do some good
Check the site every morning….. good luck with the move.
Four years?! Where did the time go? =O
I’m pretty sure that I’d first discovered your gem of a blog back when it was first conceived and I’d been a regular visitor ever since, usually visiting a couple of times daily (if possible). Your hard work has not gone unappreciated. =)
All the best, David.
Remember to salt the doorsteps before entering your new house:)
Errrrrrrr…..
Hey David
Just wanted to say I check this site more than once a day – am totally hooked on it. You do a great job and enjoy the highs and lows of moving 🙂
Cliff
Hope all works out with the move and dont worry about the site you deserve a breather every now and then and we will all be back here waiting when you get back
Doing an Amazing job David! Keep up the great work!
@ J’amie, I agree. Time for David to make the website look a little nicer and modern!
Good luck with the move, David!
I’ve moved many times myself and all I can do is hope that you have some very patient and helpful people as well as some good box spotters. I’m sure you’ve cleared out all the local fruit shops and supermarkets by now!
How the hell do you do it David, seriously..
A new skin would be nice. Looking very 90’s IMO.
Good luck with the move – the real nightmare is the endless task of unpacking wherein we will probably get more posts as David feels that need to be distracted by the small stories rather than open and sort the umpteenth box that day! 🙂
Great that you’re making good use of your Twitter account at last.
Not quite…Twitter actually gets more output from me when I am running the site at full speed. I am using it for updates this week as an interim. Each of those updates I have written today would have been standard stories here anyway. Whether perfect or imperfect, essentially I offer Twitter as an RSS feed for those who don’t actually use RSS. The reason I don’t use it in other ways is it is actually extra work. Trust me, I am tied to my computer more than enough already! I also prefer to focus dialogue via the blog, that way readers can see questions and answers in archive rather than me answering the same question over to separate Twitter accounts. I appreciate Twitter has become a communication short-form but I host a long-form and that’s plenty!
Good luck with moving house and hope everything goes well and that you’re back updating this great blog quickly. It is the best TV Blog around.
Hope you move goes well David…I, for one, will still be here when you return….
You do such a grand job with this site!….:-)
