Hurrah. Legendary Aussie soap Prisoner is about to get a series rerun on 111 HITS.

The fan favourite will begin from the very first episode on Australia Day January 26, 2011, where it will screen at 10.30pm every weeknight through Foxtel and Austar.

UPDATE: Now delayed until March.

Many readers have asked about the chance to watch this classic production once again.

The show, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, continues to enjoy a fervent fan following (many moons ago yours truly was actually given the ok to launch the very first fan club for the show!).

Well done to 111 HITS for securing the rights to the show. Bring on the interviews please!

  1. This show deserves alot better treatment than it gets. Seriously if Channel 10 had half a clue, they would show it at again 8:30pm twice a week like it was during its first run. I guarantee they would pull tonnes of viewers in each week. To now put it on pay TV is annoying as many of us don’t have pay TV. Why can’t Channel 10, who produced it, repeat in on their new channel ELEVEN? Pisses me off. This show has never been repeated in its entirety properly.
