Craig Ferguson on Australia Day

US talk show host Craig Ferguson gave a fleeting Australia Day shout out last night on his show.

US talk show host Craig Ferguson gave a fleeting Australia Day shout out last night on his show.

Well, it was one line, but it’s the thought that counts.

He sent the greeting “to all our Australian viewer” (hmm… has he been reading the ratings?).

Pick up at 1.45 sec….

  1. Absolutely loving Craig Ferguson!! Am in US talk show heaven now with him, Conan and Letterman (I don’t have Foxtel so this is fabulous!!)

He is hilarious, a great interviewer and a bit quirky!

    Hope Eleven stick with it!

  2. Craig, the exchange rate thing was clearly a joke. And the show would have aired (and probably been recorded) in the US when it was already the 26th here.

  3. Agree with all comments – I have been a full convert and craig lover since he started as are a few mates. He does ref Australia quite often and it’s fantastic every time.

If they had pushed the show I’m sure the audience would grow as his style suits aussies I think, relaxed and having an actual conversation with guests not a pre-itemised segment per se.

  4. I love everything about the show, Geoff the Robot, Secretariat, all of his puppets…. and of course Craig. He mentions Australia in a lot of his shows, bringing out the Aussie flag and kangaroo testicles when he gets an email from an Australian viewer or whenever he feels like it. Thanks to Eleven for airing it, i’ll be watching every night. Now someone has to send him a packet of Tim Tams….

  5. I’m really grateful he’s on at a consistent time every night. I love having my daily dose of ferguson. Big thanks to 11 for putting him on and keeping him on at the same time. Hopefully with time the show will build a fan base… Awkward pause anyone???

  6. He’s probably glade to have the few extra viewer(s) no matter how same. I just wonder wouldn’t this have been done on the 25th? guess he knows that it airs here the next day.

Still nice to see us mentioned, even with the bad Aussie accent.

Someone should write to him about the AU$ since he thought $12US = $3AU, guess he hasn’t checked the exchange rate lately 😆

  7. Thanks for extra info, guys.

Craig is hovering from about 35,000 – 60,000. Compared to US figures it probably feels disappointing, so hopefully he has had our digital landscape explained. It’s good to see he has some grateful fans here.

  8. Craig’s mentioned Aust a few times since the show began here. It’s had no publicity, except as the first programme aired on Eleven. The 7pm Project (silly name) should do a segment on it, even interview Craig.
Other good thing it’s aired at roughly the same time. David Letterman’s scheduling is all over the place.
Also Craig is much funnier than Letterman, always have a good belly laugh each show.

  9. Yeah Australia got mentioned plenty. I was happy he even mentioned Adelaide. He asked Jennifer Love Hewitt if she’d been to Adelaide. And then said we had good strip clubs here. Woo hoo. Score for Adelaide.
Jennifer Love Hewitt continues to tell the world about Tim Tams. She mentions them in every interview.

  10. i think craig ferguson is great he has a great sense of humor on the show is quite good for late night tv its on alot earlier than conan which is also a good show which is being ruined by 9. so id like to shout out to 11 and say thankyou so much for supernatural and californication returning im rapt.

  11. Haha, he was talking about it too when he recieved an ’email’ from Newcastle, Australia; the crowd was more enthusiastic about it and he waved a flag about. Good old Ferguson!!

  12. It was more than fleeting – he talked about Australia day and the cities he visited with both Jennifer Love Hewitt and some Swedish audience members at various points. And of course the old Kangaroo testicles from Carrie Fisher were whipped out.
