I like the line up but hate the day as on Sunday there’d be Doctor Who. As well as Poirot also probably Sherlock. I’d prefer not the weekend nor Monday (The Vampire Diaries plus Q&A ) , Wednesday (Fringe) and Thursday (Warehouse 13 ). Oh well.

  2. Yay! I was concerned they wouldn’t pick up from where TENHD left off with Smallville but they are, plus more than 1 episode a week to catch us up! Bonus!

  3. they should just do this for Sundays –

    7:30 Merlin rpt
    8:30 Supernatural
    9:30 Smallville
    10:30 Dollhouse
    11:30 Angel
    12:30 Buffy

all those other shows like Charmed, Walker, 4400 and so on should be played after Fergison at 11:30. I like the idea that Letterman is staying on Ten, it’ll probably still be on late in the night anyway so people can still catch Dave and Craig…… if they’re still up/awake.

hopefully when ratings starts they’ll use the 7:30 slots for those other missing shows. can’t see One Tree or Melrose rating well so maybe Saturday nights are best instead of old shows like Get Smart and Hogans.

one more thing, wheres Friday Night Lights?? even though it wasn’t on Eleven’s shows listing it would be a good idea to play it, plus we are 2 seasons behind! play it after Craig on fridays or something!!

  4. Is anyone’s EPG reflecting these programming line ups?
Mine generally updates 7 days ahead, but channel 11 still just shows ‘coming soon’.
    I’m based in sydney metro.

  5. I saw a 4 tuner PVR for sale a while ago, those will start getting pretty popular with all these channels I think. I don’t forsee an immediate problem, I have a 1 tuner one which is only used for like 2 things right now and a 2 tuner one that has everything else. So the 1 tuner one will be pretty much devoted to 11 and on some days like tuesday and thursday there is nothing on at all so there won’t be any conflict problems. But I can’t know for sure until the EPG is up for me to actually figure it out properly, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

In regards to the Supernatural vs. The Vampire Diaries not to mention Stargate vs. Stargate. I guess Ten or Eleven haven’t heard of Game Theory from A Beautiful Mind. Where everybody wins by not trying to compete i.e. like show against like show (is competing). Because they’d maximise their ratings if they didn’t compete i.e. putting things that aren’t alike against one another. Therefore splitting the audience and reducing both channels ratings (including their own when they do compete). So they’d get peak ratings for the show if they didn’t compete. Oh well.

That’s not mentioning the stuff they’re putting on is or will be out on DVD. Whereas The Vampire Dairies are new and eventually Warehouse 13 plus the latter isn’t repeated. Gee I wonder what the viewers will choose? Also on Sunday when the ABC puts on something I like guess what I won’t be watching when I would of on a different day? Too bad. I want to watch if they chose the right day.

  7. super excited about the return of Supernatural! All SPN fans have waited so long for this….yes clashing with Vampire Diaries won’t work in a favour =/ but let’s see how we god…Go Supernatural 2011

  8. I don’t understand why 11 would schedule Supernatural against The Vampire Diaries. Both shows have a similar demo, both shows are often watched by the same audience. Why irritate the audience that you are seeking to woo from the get go?

  9. David do you know if Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will be fast tracked or are they starting with the 1st ep this year? (that screened in US this week, so a week behind)

    thanks

  10. Supernatural vs Vampire Diaries at the same tiimeslot…. I wonder if go! is worried ?

In my opinion there are only two real youth channels at the moment 11 and go!,

7 mate to me skews older and younger like abc 2.

  11. Regarding Dollhouse and One Tree Hill it isn’t that bad as Dollhouse was a cancelled series and One Tree Hill I think the last season was played on Saturdays on Ten a while back and I think Ten are ready to play the latest season of One Tree Hill soon. I am sure Dollhouse was on the pdf from the ten corporate site and it was supposed to be coming ?

Melrose Place again a cancelled series so not that bad.

Top Model (UK)…. well maybe they decided the NZ version would be better. Doesn’t it count as local drama ?

I worked out if they show double episodes of Smallville it will take 25 to 26 weeks ! to get up to date. Ten may have to do what Seven did with Heartbeat and air double episodes Twice a week !

  12. Well that’s a disaster. As soon as the ABC show something I’m interested in on Sunday I won’t be able to watch Smallville. Especially as they are like Ch 73 and not repeating it late at night as Ch 99 does. As for Supernatural I guess I might be able to adapt although I might miss it. I guess they really want people to watch DVDs instead.

Thank you David for this update. 🙂

  13. it’s good to see Smallville in double episodes and have Supernatural back but i would like to see Supernatural from the beginning of season 5 for 2 reasons:
    1. it would be good to the whole season uninterrupted without it being taken off.
    2. a lot of people will be lost after not seeing it on for 9 months unless you have watch it on dvd or online.
well at least it’s back that’s the main thing.
another question to is according to tv week Californication starts from season 3 but the guides says it starts from season 4 so which season will be starting from?

  14. Still waiting on the EPG in brisbane, they could have tuesday, wednesday and thursday up by now but they are still blank, why do they love leaving this task till the last minute with channel launches. This week 9 left monday, tuesday and wednesday all blank until they realised monday night, if it isn’t in the EPG I’m not going to be able to watch it, my PVR centres around the EPG.

I’m now thinking about dragging out the last episodes aired of each of these shows and watching them again to get pumped up.

  15. Sons of Anarchy is missing too, and that is one I was looking forward to. Does Ten/Eleven have the rights to Terriers?

Will Stargate Universe remain in doubles? Dollhouse could replace one of those episodes. Buffy repeats are not listed either. I suppose they have to save some content for later in the year.

  16. The only problem I have with the late night talk show line up is now Ferguson and Letterman will overlap, and could cost ratings, not that it matters at that time of night.

Good to see Smallville and others returning, even if they are 1 or 2 season behind the US.

  17. With about 9 new channels over the last year, I’m having to choose what shows to watch!!! It’s so difficult when they’re on at the same time 🙁

There’s no doubt that these Eleven shows will clash will clash with some of my favourite shows when they return after Summer.
