In case you hadn’t noticed, voting for the Logie Awards closes this Sunday night, at 11.59pm (AEDT) to be precise.
It’s been a very long voting campaign this year and along with on air promotions for (certain) stars, it will be interesting to see how the votes shake down this time. TV Week says it has a record amount of votes.
This year you can also vote for Community TV if you wish.
All Popular Awards voting is online this year via TV Week.

to above andrew-1981 the flood coverage. that karl for standing there for two weeks repeating himself while in the back ground people physically working for two weeks and at the end of the day went back to skeleton homes not a Motel. The logie goes to. Also, why is it that all his coverages concsist of sick kids, sad stories and the unfortunate. It’s these people that shine the light on a story, not the one putting his hand up for every gig (not dangerous) just to be able to say i have one. is it. symphathy or greed? (its using people not his own abilty)
Re: Reg Watson. I assisted with the research for Reg Grundy’s autobiography, and had meetings with John O’Grady (who was responsible for compiling all of the information, and was Grundy’s right-hand man in his early days). In one of those meetings, I mentioned the whole ‘Reg Watson for the Hall of Fame’ idea. John’s response was that RW certainly deserved it, but would most likely not accept it. He is a shy man who would not be able to cope with the fanfare.
Online voting has been on for years. I don’t understand when I read (not just here) when people say it’s the first time voting is done online. For the past few years, you only buy the TV Week for the promotion code or if you want to vote by mail. Otherwise you can still vote online. I’ve been voting for the last 5 years.
It’s the first time all voting has been done online. No more mag voting.
Who is Reg Watson ? I thought Reg Grundy created Prisoner, Sons and daughters etc, and that he had already been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Also, I don’t think Daryl Somers will even be on the shortlist for Gold, let alone win it.
Grundy was producer. Watson was creator.
In no particular order winners from those categories will be from Channel 7,Channel 9,Channel 10,and Foxtel
One thing i like is you don’t need to buy the TV Week to enter anymore.First time i have entered ever for the TV Week Logie awards
Don’t suppose we can vote to axe the Logies?
I really want Daryl Somers to win the gold, I think he is a strong contender this year.
I don’t care who wins Gold this year… I just hope it’s not Ray Meagher or Rebecca Gibney. I like new winners!
Thanks David – excuse my enthusiasm!
Yes, I know you’ve mentioned him as a potential candidate before – I truly believe he should be recognised in this way for his remarkable achievements.
He would be the perfect candidate in my eyes. Here’s hoping he receives the Hall of Fame nod before too long.
Why watch? the gold will either go to someone from Rafters or H&A.
Reg Watson or Prisoner for the Logies Hall Of Fame!
Don’t forget to vote for Daryl and the team from Hey Hey!! Hey Hey forever!
Well I can honestly say I have never ever voted for the Logies before but this year was my first and yes it was for Daryl Somers and the Hey Hey gang!
just looking at the people that are on the voting list. i have to shake my head. news readers on breakfast shows, i don’t think you would classify them as tv personalities
Ok I’m going to get this in early and I’m going to make myself crystal clear.
The candidate I want to see receive the Logie Hall of Fame Award this year is:
Reg Watson, Reg Watson, Reg Watson!!!
This man has done so much for the Australian industry by creating shows such as Sons and Daughters, Prisoner, The Restless Years and Neighbours that he absolutely deserves to receive it.
It’s high time this great man be recognised for the massive contribution he has made over the many decades to the local industry with shows that are known world-wide!
Reg Watson must receive the Hall of Fame now!!
Was that clear enough?
Patrick: Reg Watson is indeed a great nomination for Hall of Fame, as noted by previous comments on this site. I checked about 3 weeks ago and networks had already submitted their names to the Logie jury.
these comments are missing something “don’t forget to vote for Daryl and the Hey Hey gang!”
Cheers! I was wondering why there wasnt a flurry of “vote for our show” promos leading up to it.
I agree Bogues
They should have a category for social media or something
when did the voting start? No advertisement what so ever.
voting for mediocrity. adam hills for the gold, there isn’t anyone else that deserves it
I’ve seen campaigns for farais dirani, emma booth and Karl. Don’t think I have seen any on 7 so it will be funny if it is a repeat of last year and 7 get all 5 nominations in most of the popular categories.
I seen the campaign for Chrissie Swan to win best new talent. she has a pretty good chance other than best presenter and she deserves it, coming from Big Brother to The Circle, she is wildly entertaining.
Channel 9 are campaigning Karl Stefanovic, He has proven his diversity from doing 2 weeks of non stop flood and cyclone coverage and hes funny on the Today show. I would love if he won as I want to see all the peoples faces in the audience like Kochies! haha and imagine how pi**ed he would get!
I actually voted yesterday, through TheCircle link….
Never have bothered before….but it was just a few clicks and that was it.
I didn’t see a category for best website. We all know that TV Tonight would win it hands down!
