Survivor: Redemption is coming

Channel Nine viewers want Survivor back on air and Nine is about to make them happy.

The tribe has spoken.

Channel Nine viewers want Survivor back on air.

Now that Ben Elton Live from Planet Earth is no more, Nine is set to announce the return of the long-running reality series.

The latest instalment of the Mark Burnett-produced series began a week ago in the US and a second episode is set to air today.

This series hails the return of notable contestants Boston Rob and Evil Russell, together with a new twist of a second island that offers evictees the chance to return to the game.

Avoiding internet spoilers for shows such as Survivor and The Amazing Race is no fun at all. While TAR returns to screen on 7mate on Sunday, Survivor fans have been awaiting similar news from Nine.

Let’s kick off with a double episode and get up to speed, please?

  2. So I’ve watched the first two episodes and I have to tell you guys this…
    Iis it amazingggggg!!!!!!!!
Only two episodes and i’m loving it !
Please nine, bring it back so all of australia can see the wonderful series survivor has become !

  3. From what I have seen, this is the Best series of Survivor ever. Having two seasoned players like Rob and Russell keeps the tribes on their toes, so there is none of that coasting along that can make early episodes a bit dull…there are also a few other standout characters that make for great TV. If nine lets this series slip through their fingers their ratings torch deserves to be snuffed out for good.

  4. @ Mac, I have to agree the last was not one of the better seasons, but this one does sound like the survivor we’ve gotten to know in the few season prior. Looking forward to it regardless on any channel at any time. Look forward to the update David.

  5. Not my kind of show and was rather disappointed going back to the 2001/02 seasons to find they dropped those Changing Rooms/Airline and Airport shows for Survivor

  6. For all those complaining, Ben Elton: Live from Planet Earth originally only had a 4 week contract anyway before being axed in 3. How do we know that it’s wasn’t Nine’s plan all along to show Survivor: Redemption Island after it finished it’s 4 week run?

I’m actually happy they are a couple of weeks behind at the moment, as the U.S. will miss a week for March Madness in a few weeks time and we will catch up that way even without double episodes.

  7. Would love to see this. Boston Rob is my all time favourite. Chrissie Swan asked yesterday via twitter when the new season was starting.

Hopefully next week. Come on Channel Nine, I know you listened to us when we wanted The View on GEM when the cricket was on.
