Survivor’s Russell accused of leaking Spoilers

Survivor contestant Russell Hantz has been accused of leaking Spoilers about the reality series.

Last week Survivor message board commentator Jim Early said that Hantz had leaked him spoilers and other secret information about Survivor: Samoa and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.

Now Producer Mark Burnett has commented on the claims.

“I found out the same time you found out. I read it online,” Burnett said this week. “I had no idea about it.”

Early said he was sued by Burnett’s company, DJB. Inc, in August for prematurely publishing the names of eliminated contestants and other spoiler information. However, the lawsuit against Early was dismissed after he allegedly produced evidence proving Hantz, 38, to be the leak.

The consequence for breaking the Survivor contract is “liquidated damages” of $5 million.

Hantz and “Boston” Rob Mariano both appear in the upcoming Survivor: Redemption Island.

“I still have not had a conversation with CBS or anyone about it,” said Burnett.

  1. I think this season will make or break our chances for Future Survivor seasons.

    Also and more importantly is there any word yet for when Channel 9 will be showing this? i hope they don’t track their feet like they have before.

  2. Russell is fun to watch. It’s not fun to watch endless Russell diary time where he raves about how much he controls the game and is certain to win. They got into the same routine with Sash last season.

  4. Yup, I was disappointed to accidentally read the rumours about HvV and the new season, both attributed to Hantz’s wife which turned out to be correct. There is one final piece of spoiler information (which I won’t repeat here) which is very disappointing, too. If only they had heeded Probt’s claim that Hantz needed to “step away from the game for a while”.

  5. Yes, I remember (accidentally) reading some very specific spoilers for the first Samoa season that appeared quite early in the season, and which later transpired to be correct. Unfortunately once you have read them you can’t unread them!

  7. I love to watch Russell! He’s so entertaining because of his nastiness and arrogance!! He’s a facebook friend and he’s been denying the leaks for a while, but who knows what the truth is. There’s no doubt though that he will make the next season more interesting, even if people watch just to see him voted off!!

  10. I saw some of Survivor with this horrible man and also when Rob was on it and TAR. Don’t contestants sign a confidentiality clause which will mean instant disqualification? If that clown Russell has been leaking info and it’s proved, the producers should disqualify him. I get that he’s a villain and people love the boo hiss factor, but he was such a sore loser.
