AFL fans sure are getting smothered for choice these days. Two more are on the way, this time from ONE.

Could someone who has their head around all these shows please write us a list of all the FTA / Pay TV shows for AFL?

The Game Plan AFL
The Game Plan will provide viewers with detailed preview information for the upcoming round.

Hosted by Anthony Hudson, Matthew Lloyd and Scott Cummings, The Game Plan will dissect what has transpired in AFL news during the week and will concentrate on the team announcements – who’s in, who’s out and who has what it takes to be the next AFL premiers.

Boasting a variety of feature stories and in-studio guests, the light hearted yet informative program will be hosted by two of AFL’s most respected commentators and will also welcome a special guest panellist into the studio each week.

It premieres Wednesday, March 23 then continues Thursdays on ONE HD.

The Final Siren
The Final Siren will provide a definitive wrap up of all the AFL action across the weekend.

Hosted by ex AFL player and commentator Michael Christian and Chris Grant, The Final Siren will delve into the highs and lows of the games played on the weekend and will give viewers access to the most up to date AFL information providing unique insight into coach press conferences, match statistics and where the teams are placed on the ladder.

Featuring the top 10 plays of the weekend, in-depth analysis and highlights of every game, Michael and Chris will be regularly joined by Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph.

  1. Join in the chorus … furious that OWAAT is moved until 10.45pm in Bris. My family used to watch it every week when it was on at 7.30 and then they moved it til later and now they have virtually made it unwatchable. We love the fact that it is an intelligent thought provoking discussion panel about the game we love and by moving it to this timeslot is absolutely unbelievable. TEN – get your act together and give this show the timeslot it deserves. Not everyone is QLD is an NRL fan – in fact some of us hate it!!! They get enough of their programs on at decent hours on channel nine – Thursday night and Sunday as well as coverage on a Friday night – who do I contact to express my disgust!!!!

  2. Absolutely pi**ed about One Week At A Time being moved to the delayed time of 11:45pm in Sydney and replaced by the NRL version! With a second Sydney team coming in to the AFL next season, they should be plugging more AFL shows and drumming up the interest, not decreasing the amount of exposure our great game gets! How do they expect the to start converting Sydney-siders to AFL!?!?

    Bloody ridiculous!!

  3. As an avid AFL fan I am extremely disappointed that an AFL channel like 1HD would place on delay one week at a time AFL for queensland viewers to show the NRL version, I looked forward as a none pay tv customer to listening to the talk show every Monday evening. I was also excited to see hear that the game plan was on Thursday evening only to find out that the NRL show is shown in Queensland.

1HD is an AFL channel, yet they are sacrificing the sport they are paying millions to cover to promote a game shown on their rival network, it does not make sense.

Please support the avid fan and show the AFL shows at a time watchable by the loyal AFL supporter.

AFL fan SE Queensland. (How can I gety my kids to follow te Gold Coast Suns when you give precedence to NFL shows on your channel)

  4. This is ridiculous that Brisbane and Sydney have One Week at a Time moved to 11.45pm??? And Thursday Night Live also replaced with some crappy NRL show…

    Let’s all complain here: onehd.com.au/contact.htm

  5. i am absolutely filthy about The AFL version of one week at a time being shown at 11.45pm, that is far too late, what’s wrong with it being on at 9.30, just switch the NRL one to 8.30 then the afl version on at 9.30. what a joke.

  6. Looking forward to the new AFL shows. Shame that those of us in Sydney and Brisbane will have to wait until 11:45pm to watch One Week at a Time and The Game Plan. Comon Channel Ten, you’re the official AFL broadcaster. Fix this.

  7. terrific- in sydney one week at at time AFL on at midnight ……….please TEN put the AFL ( one week and game plan) on at 8.30pm in MEL/ADL/PER and 9.30pm in SYD/BRI and NRL show on around the other way round ..what is so hard about this ???? instead we will get ice road truckers or wrestling or something equally ridiculous…… please someone? anyone???

  8. The Final Siren is going to miss reviewing a few games during the year – besides the late finishing Sunday games, there’s Queens Birthday games; Anzac day games; Easter Monday (on Tuesday); and the Monday game on 9 May. As a mad Pies fan in Sydney, I’m really looking forward to the new AFL shows. Thank you Ch10.

  9. Cant wait for the Final Siren should be good. I do agree that the Final Siren should be on a Sunday Night, after the final game has been played. I think its amazing and ausome that Network Ten has the balls the try four or five AFL shows and 7 who claim they “Just Love the Footy” only have one. This just goes to show that the dinosaurs at 7 Network dont care about AFL at all. Pitty Network Ten are not in a better financial position then 7 then they could have exclusive FTA rights to the AFL, I know that will not happen at least not for another 4 years minimum.

  10. Just adding that the Fox Sports AFL show which was shown on Fridays called Before the Bounce, this season will move to Sunday evenings after FOX broadcasts the twilight game & the show will be renamed to After The Bounce.

  11. Brilliant- Cant wait- as a sydney AFL mad fan this is great ..thank god for ONE- as free to air main channels we get nuthin but sydney games basically …go pies !

  12. Monday

AFL Teams – 7.30pm (FOX Sports)
The Game Plan (AFL) – 8.30pm (Network TEN)
The Footy Show – 9.30pm (NINE Network)

    Friday
    n/a

    Saturday
Before the Game – 6.30pm (Network TEN)
The 5th Quarter – Approx. 9.45pm After Match (Network TEN)

    Sunday
AFL Gameday – Sundays 10.00am (SEVEN Network)
The Sunday Footy Show – Sundays 10.00am (NINE Network)
The Final Siren – Sundays 7.00pm (Network TEN)

All Times are AEDST. Regular AFL Broadcasts are not included.

  13. Interesting to note that The Final Siren will debut on March 27 just before the West Coast-North Melbourne match, which starts at 7.40pm AEDT. If the program’s aim is to “provide a definitive wrap up of all the AFL action across the weekend”, then it should be shown after Sunday’s final match (in this case, the Eagles-Roos clash) subject to One’s coverage of F1 and MotoGP.

  14. Will us good folk in Queensland still get to see the AFL versions of The Game Plan and One Week At A TIme now ONE are doing NRL versions of both shows.

  15. Ok, I’ll do my best. Someone with Foxtel might want to cover the Pay TV list because I can only speak for FTA/Digital.

    ABC2: Mangrook Footy Show
    7/Prime: AFL Game Day
Nine/Win: AFL Footy Show, Sunday Footy Show, Footy Classified.
Ten/SC: One Week at a Time, The Game Plan, The Final Siren, Before the Game, The Western Front. There’s also the new Adelaide centric one who’s name I forget.

One last question David, do these air times reflect what time they’ll air nationally or just in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide & Hobart?

  16. The rights holding networks always up their efforts in the final year of their contract to get in the AFL’s good books. Are both shows an hour format?
