Bumped: Blue Bloods

More changes at TEN, which will also impact on Law and Order.

More changes at TEN with Blue Bloods now moving timeslots.

From next week it moves to 9:30pm Fridays, replacing Law and Order (now out of schedule).

In place of Blue Bloods on Wednesdays, TEN is relying on a Modern Family “Hour”, consisting of 2 repeat episodes.

Last night Blue Bloods pulled 565,000 fourth in its timeslot -which is a shame because so far this has been a pretty entertaining drama.

  1. Hmm .. I like this show as well.. It’s not a “must see” but it’s good.. In the US it started on Friday night, moved to Wednesday night, and has just been moved back to Friday… Is TEN that desperate they are following the US.?

  2. @DansDans:

I give the trophy to Ten over Nine because Ten is so much better at the “to death” part. They really seem to enjoy driving these shows to depressingly low viewing figures.

  3. wow, never expected this to be moved to fridays. I would have thought a 9:30 slot might be better and Lie To Me to move to fridays. according to Tens original ad it pulled big numbers in the US, I guess the show ain’t working out here.

PS, can people please stop saying “move it to Eleven” when ever a show ain’t working on Ten!! if its not working out on the main channel, what makes you think it’ll rate better on 11 instead of 10? Eleven is a youth aimed channel so Blue Bloods wouldn’t fit in there, no crime show should be on 11 besides Dexter. I think we all know the main channels are mainly for crime shows, chuck lorre comedies and reality shows. this show wouldn’t belong there, theres plenty of timeslots on 10 to fill.

also, the moving of Raising Hope to 11 is valid, its a comedy which suits the channel.

  4. After the advertising blitz this week produced no improvement, it had to be done. I enjoyed the pilot, but I haven’t had a chance to catch up on my recorded episodes. I have also heard that the quality has declined in the US, and it might be axed, so I am not sure if I will bother. It’s a shame Ten’s cupboard is bare.

  5. May as well move the show to Eleven, don’t even bother keeping it on the main station. The problem with the show is that despite the fact it is well acted and looks authentic, it is yet another police procedural and frankly, the audience is over them, as can be seen by the dwindling ratings for our own police procedurals (City Homicide, Rescue:SO, Cops LAC).

  6. I love this show. I also love Modern Family but we have already had repeats over the summer so I won’t watch it. Oh well less work for my PVR. I’ll be watching Criminal Minds.

  7. We agree with you, David.

We’d recorded the first few eps and caught up with them earlier this week and both enjoyed the show for what it is.

We also enjoy the rebooted Hawaii 5-0, although I’d never seen the original programme.

On a separate note (d-o-i-n-g), how do you think repeats of Modern Family would go at 6pm after they move George to 6.30 by the end of this coming week?

Or maybe they’ll just settle on:
“5pm – ‘News Around the Nation and the World’, followed at 6 with ‘Sydney and Your State News’, then ‘The World, By George’.”…

  8. that is a terrible time slot!! On a friday night us tv addicts usually are at party’s or watching movies, so how is friday night meant to get more viewers that wednesday? And david i agree that it is amazing! Its my favourite crime show in years!

  9. Knew this would be coming – it started off with 1.1 million viewers and has now lost half its audience in just one month. The show slipped hundreds of thousands of viewers every week.

Ten need to start looking into some new Australian shows that aren’t The Biggest Loser and Masterchef.

  10. Can’t believe this!! Channel Ten were great last year… now they’re moving everything around!! I’m so disappointed. I just started watching Law and Order and was really happy that I had something to watch before Outrageous Fortune… And since OF was finishing up soon, I wouldn’t mind relying on L&O for a good Friday night viewing.

  11. pulling out the good ol’ Modern Family again to plug a hole in the schedule. Seriously?

I think TEN believed (pre-ratings) that it had a strong schedule coming into the ratings this year. But basically every night there is some major programming problem: shows haven’t performed to expectations.

  12. I’m finding the more they (9 and 10) repeat shows like Modern Family and 2 1/2 men and Big Bang, the less i look forward to the new episodes. It’s like family who stay too long, you love them but you don’t want to see them every day.
