Welcome back, Mr. Kotter.

Mr. Kotter says yes to a cast reunion with John Travolta and some old sweathogs.

Former cast members of Welcome Back, Kotter, Gabe Kaplan or Robert Hegyes are joining that cast reunion after all.

Kaplan, who played school teacher Mr. Kotter, and Hegyes who was sweathog Epstein, were the only two principal cast members who were yet to confirm they would join a reunion that will take place at a US awards event.

It wouldn’t have been the same without Kaplan, but once John Travolta said he was locked in things were looking pretty positive.

The reunion will be part of the TV Land Awards in mid-April, which generally commemorates shows now off the air.

While it won’t be seen in Australia as a stand-alone special, fingers crossed it may make some of the magazine shows such as Entertainment Tonight, or wind-up on YouTube.

By the look of recent pics, don’t expect to see that hair-do on Mr. Kotter.

  1. I also was wondering where Horshack was. He was my fave sweathog, so little, silly, and loud ( Oh oh oh ) So I did some digging and found out that he was recovering from some sort of surgery.

  2. On the Tvland awards, where was “horshack”? All the cast members were there. They all received awards and celebrated the show that started 35yrs ago. Was & still is an awesome sitcom. 😉

  3. What i like about these shows that are appearing on the new digital channels. Is that they don’t have to bash/support homosexuals, bash/support religion, bash/support any side of politics. Or show or almost show sexual content, to still be very entertaining.

  4. It’s been great catching up on this show and reliving a few memories. The comedy is pretty simplistic and there’s usually a moral played out each episode. Best bit’s are the theme song (they don’t write ’em like that any more and the joke Gabe ends each show with. It was the first time I heard the singing telegram joke…Da Da Da-Da-Da-Da, your sister rose is dead…. etc

  5. I loved this show when it initially aired, and I love watching it now. Best thing about the new channels is that I am reliving my childhood 🙂
