It's an "Olympics special" with Merrick Watts, Grant Hackett, Casey Eastham, Reginald D. Hunter -and one very ripped wrestler.

Nine airs the second episode of Between the Lines tonight as an “Olympics special.”

Joining Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy, and Ryan Fitzgerald are Merrick Watts, Grant Hackett, Casey Eastham, Reginald D. Hunter -and one very ripped wrestler.

It’s a celebration of the world’s greatest sporting event when a selection of Australia’s finest athletes team up with funny men Merrick Watts and Reginald D. Hunter on a special Olympics-themed episode of Between The Lines, tomorrow night at 8.30pm on Channel Nine.

Hosted by Eddie McGuire, Between The Lines features two teams of three players going head-to-head, with Mick Molloy and Ryan Fitzgerald taking the role of team captains. This week’s guests are:

· Grant Hackett, regarded as one of the greatest distance swimmers in history, famous for winning the men’s 1500m freestyle at both the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

· Giaan Rooney, who won Olympic gold and broke a world record in the women’s 4 x 100 metre medley relay at the Athens Olympics.

Russell Mark, an Australian shooter who won a gold medal at the Atlanta Games of 1996.

Casey Eastham, a member of Australia’s gold medal-winning Hockeyroos at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Jon Sieben, who won the gold in the 200m butterfly at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

Paul Narracott, the sprinter who competed at the Edmonton 1978 and Brisbane 1982 Commonwealth Games, as well as the 1984 Olympics.

Grant Hackett and Reginald D. Hunter will play on Ryan Fitzgerald’s team, with Casey Eastham and Merrick Watts joining Mick Molloy.

It airs tonight at 8.30pm on Channel Nine.

  1. I’m with you menicci -I was pleasantly surprised by the format. If you’re into sport, you’d be in TV heaven on ch 9. Between The Lines and The Footy Show

  2. I watched this and found it, at times, very funny. The show was not all about Eddie and people who decide not to watch it based on Eddie being the host are just being childish. I don’t think AFL was mentioned once, so accusations of it being slanted in that direction are baseless. I’m not saying it’s the best show on TV by any stretch but people from Sydney not watching it simply because it is made in Melbourne is beyond my comprehension. I could make a derogatory comment about Sydney but doing so would only lower me to the level of my Northern neighbours, so I’ll refrain.

  3. Saw the end before the Southern Star logo (again, Channel Nine being shit with the credits) and the Footy Show starts. Mick Molloy of the Triple M (104.9) Grill Team loses again.
