Ready, Steady, Cook fans already miss Peter Everett

Some TEN viewers got a bit of a shock yesterday when new episodes of Ready, Steady, Cook aired, but without host Peter Everett.

Some TEN viewers got a bit of a shock yesterday when fresh episodes of Ready, Steady, Cook with new host Colin Lane hit the screens.

Maybe they hadn’t heard he was replacing Peter Everett.

A wave of comments hit TV Tonight yesterday afternoon, almost all of which were upset that Everett would no longer be appearing on the popular show.

Many of them let fly at TEN:

Liz: Sorry to see you go Pete, loved the show because you were in it. Not the same without you, always looked forward to your happy, genuine self. Channel 10… not happy!

Penny: Very shocked that Peter would not be hosting anymore, my 14 month old daughter loved ready steady cook, once it came on today and she didn’t see Peter on the screen she was not interested anymore and turned away. Peter was the show, and its boring now!

Lynette: I love Peter & the show but without Peter I am not interested in watching anymore, he made the show. So sad. Good luck Peter for your future.

Beatrice Timmis: i love ready steady cook but peter everett was the show i watched it every day i loved it from the moment it started till it finished sorry but i will not watch it any more even for the reciepes i will continue to buy the book why do you do things like that i dont know

Lorraine Usher: Cannot believe that channel 10 has parted ways with Peter Everett, lost a viewer with this household….

Sacha Haddad: OMG he will bemissed i definetly won’t be watching the show anymore. He was so easy going and funny.

Kay Warrop: After watching the first edition of Ready Steady Cook with new hoast I was very dissapointed as Peter Everett really made the show so now you have not only lost a veiwer for this show but for other shows as well. Hope he comes back with another channel.

Belinda Smith: Bring back Pete! The show sucks without him.

Sharon n: Bring back Peter Everett. I like Colin lane but the show is not the same not sure if I will continue to watch.

Liz Whitton: I for one will no longer watch RSC. The new host has no personality what a dead pan
Bring Back Peter Everett he was the life of that show. Channel ten you are gone gone gone.

Hilary Bell: Oh, no, only 20 minutes into the new show and Colin Lane looks like a duck out of water. He spends more time looking at the camera than at what is being cooked. Please bring back Peter Everett – a delightful man who drove the chefs crazy on occasions but had a delightful personality with lots of hugs (and self deprecation so often) but he was really interested in what was going on and added so much fun to the show.

But some were glad to see him replaced with Lane:

Sharon: My husband and I both agree that peter Everett was so inappropriate with contestants and chefs alike, we are glad he is gone and hope that the series keeps going with the new host as we do like the show.

  2. Where is Peter Everett????? He made the show. He was the show, I wont be watching it now with this new person Colin!!!!!! He has nothing on Pete. Ratings will go down very boring show now… Bring back Peter!!!!

  8. what the hell is going on? why fix something if it aint broke!!!! Im no longer watching RSC…..won’t watch until Peter comes back. no offence to Colin as he is a very nice guy but this is not his thing>>> what is wrong with you Channel 10…and while im onto it…bring back Good wife…how can it be season finale when the show has only been on a few months!!!!!

  10. I have watched RSC now for the last 6 years. I have given Colin Lane a go for a week (no offence to Colin he is very nice but he is Not Peter) The show has lost something, you cannot replace someone’s personality. This was Peter’s show. Channel 10, you may be able to do things like this but at the end of the day, it will be the viewers who have the last say. You have taken away alot of peoples pleasure, people who used to look forward to Peter’s fooling around and having fun. Shame, shame shame!!!!!!

  11. I turned RSC on today and found out that Peter Everett had been replaced. At this point I wasn’t sure whether he was away on a holiday, so sat through the show with new host. Never again! Especially after finding out that Peter had been shafted. If this is true then why the hell does the new host try to act like Peter, he even uses the same phrases, i.e. boys and girls. I am totally disgusted. Peter Everett was “Ready Steady Cook.”

  12. Thinking that Peter Everett had taken a few days off, I was absolutely gobsmacked to find out that he’s been replaced. Why?

    Would I eat chips without salt? No! Would I watch RSC without
    Peter Everett? Never!!

  13. what a disaster i don’t watch daytime too often but one show i thoroughly enjoyed always was ready steady cook and only because of the host i wonder all the chefs like George and manou where they would be had they not been first on this show the show was peter now to me there is no show

  14. Prefer Colins humor on stage not on RSC. Re someone’s previous comment re: Peter being inapropriate with chefs & guests. Thats called having a rapport with people. Peter definately time for your own show or a permanent spot on the Panel?

  16. No offence to the new host of RSC, but Channel 10 has lost another viewer of this programme. I watched my first episode with the new host, last week, and just could not see any warmth or rapport with the chefs, contestants and more importantly, with the viewers.

  17. I really miss Peter Everett on Ready Steady Cook, big mistake Channel 10 Producers. Don’t know what went on at Channel 10, but Watched show cause Peter was on it, he was funny, cute, entertaining. Hate RSC already-not the same. Big Loss-hope we see you back soon Peter.

  19. We will all miss Pete to start with but as time goes on Colin will settle and viewers will warm to him. You can still see comments on line from when Pete started with RSC and the viewers were missing Nick. Give Colin a go and hope we get to see Pete doing something else soon. Thanx for all the laughs Pete!

  21. The new recipe for the show is not to my taste at all. Peter mixed the ingredients together to form a very enjoyable afternoon treat, one that I will miss from now on

  22. I don’t understand. I think Colin Lane’s doing quite well so far. I mean, yes, he’s a little nervous and awkward, but it is his first week of episodes after all. Maybe we’ll look back on these articles in a couple of months and chuckle because people will have been won over.

    Also, I don’t see how attacking Colin Lane makes Ten’s decision to remove Peter Everett less legitimate. Peter was shown the door before they had auditions, so it’s not as though Colin stole his job. If you love Pete, be angry at the network, not Colin Lane.

    I’m staying with RSC because I know Colin only has room for improvement.

  24. ch 10 youve made a big mistake. RSC is now just like every other cooking show on tele PE was what made the show watchable. He never failed to put a smile on my face. I think you are seriously going to lose A lot of your viewers. Colin is just soooo wrong for the show. PE hold your head high!!! It was only because of your antics that i watched the show Not anymore…God bless you in all you do…

  25. Disappointed Peter Everett has gone from RSC.

    We have watched while having lunch since the show started. He gave the show life which it now seems to be lacking and we have lost interest.
