Ooops. Today show’s live cross out for a duck.

The Today show was hoping to get sight of a "shark" at a lake on the Gold Coast. But then...

Ah live telly….

It throws you the most unfortunate moments.

This morning on the Today show they were hoping to get sight of a “shark” at Evandale Lake, on the Gold Coast, with shark expert Paul Burt.

Then it went a bit awry…

  1. I saw that as it happened. It was hilarious! And the show did a nice follow-up this morning, returning to the fisherman and the lake to prove the duck was ok. Far more entertaining tv than Sunrise!

  2. come off it… everyone chill the bleep out.

you couldn’t Write gold like that!!

Catching a duck, live on air, with a fishing line – hilarious.

  3. ..and as usual big note Wilkinson has to try and have the last funny one liner over the top of everyone else. Cringeworthy. Why would you even do such a fluff piece about a shark in a lake?

  4. This is why I love the Today Show. Stuff happens that would only happen every million years over on that ‘other network’ which is nothing more than a bunch of men and women with plastic surgery.

  5. Am I being too cynical, or does it seem these breakfast shows try to manufacture “oh no it went bad” moments. Karl’s laughing at the start seemed poorly acted. And some mildly sexual innuendo was over played into Karl struggling to continue.

Clearly they couldn’t foresee the bozo hooking a duck (atleast I hope to god they haven’t stooped so low) but the events after where they should have been trying to professionally salvage the segment and hopefully their credibilty, Karl’s still being an ass.

This determination to look unprofessional, almost Jimmy Fallon doing weekend news, and generate nice little clips on YouTube seems to have more importance than being actually entertaining.

  6. geez criag lighten up…thats why today is gaining ground…they can take the #iss out of themselves when things dont work out and its genuine humour and not the stuff other breakfast shows force…
