Uptown Downstairs Abbey

This parody should get you into the mood for the finale of Downton Abbey this weekend.

To get you into the mood for the finale of Downton Abbey this weekend, here’s a pretty funny clip that was made some time ago for Comic Relief.

Look out for the stars here….

  1. Ha ha ha! Love it and love the original, of course! Saunders does a brilliant Maggi Smith.

@IMO – thanks for the tip. I would have been real p*** off, if the part 2 spoiled the Sunday episode for me!

  2. This is just brilliant! There is a Part 2 on You Tube but be warned – it has a major storyline spoiler in it that we haven’t seen yet – wait till after Sunday to watch.

  3. It’s written by Jennifer Saunders. Sanders and French usually write something for every Red Nose Day/Comic Relief. Alongside her are Joanna Lumley, Olivia Colman (Debbie Doonan from Beautiful people) Victoria Wood, Harry Enfield, Simon Callow, Bruce Byron (DC Terry Perkins from The Bill) and Kim Cattrall. Also of note is that Saunders daughter Freya is one of the maids. This isn’t just some run of the mill fast forward sketch with a few extras thrown in. And yes, it’s narrated by Michael Gambon. I actually thought it was worth a bit of a chuckle, Anthony. I doubt Saunders is having a real dig at it considering she and French have been taking the proverbial out of all the other shows, films for years. All in good fun.

  4. I saw this ages ago & it is very funny.
I love British Humour it’s the Best.
You don’t need to be a fan of Downton Abbey to find this funny.

  5. @anthony? Not funny? Wow. Its a brilliant piece of comedy in the style of Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antique’s. I love Downton Abbey but given the choice I wish Upstairs Downstairs Abbey was the real version.

  6. I’ve seen this weeks ago and wasn’t impressed. They’re poking fun of the right things, but I just don’t find it funny… Especially since I think Downton Abbey is a brilliant show!!
