BBC to screen LifeStyle FOOD’s new Planet Cake series

LifeStyle FOOD's new local series Planet Cake, featuring Paris Cutler, will be shown internationally via BBC Worldwide.

LifeStyle FOOD’s new local series, Planet Cake, will be shown internationally.

Planet Cake owner Paris Cutler was guest of honour at the series launch yesterday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. On display were some of Cutler’s extravagant cakes including a giant TV cake and a large cake resembling a Foxtel remote control.

LifeStyle Channels manager Nicole Sheffield said, “BBC Worldwide will be taking this show to the world and that’s what’s really exciting. This is an Australian programme that we’ve created here, that is going to the rest of the world.

Produced by Freehand the series sees Cutler design, create and deliver extraordinary couture cakes.

“It’s so fast-paced, it’s so exciting that you just want more and more,” Cutler said of her first television venture.

“I’ve travelled the world looking at cakes. I’ve gone through Europe, the States, everywhere and I firmly believe with my hand on my heart that Australian cake decorators are the best in the world. I promise you.

“The most exciting thing about this show is not just having a platform to show how good Planet Cake is but to show Australians how good they are, not just in Australia but on a world stage.”

It premieres Wednesday 7.30pm November 2 on LifeStyle FOOD.
