Oops. Republican candidate forgets the script

"It's three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, Education and... the um...what's the third one, let's see...."

“It’s three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, Education and… the um…what’s the third one, let’s see….”

During a debate amongst Republican Presidential candidates, Texas governor Rick Perry couldn’t remember the three major US government agencies he hoped to abolish if he won the race.

Only in America.

  1. I saw this last night on the news. He is forgetful isnt he? Also he appeared on Letterman effectively parodying or making fun of himself i didnt know americans could do that, i always thought that they were stuck up.

  2. Imagine if America had only 2 months of electioneering instead of this joke.
Mustcost millions, that they need for school, jobs.
Why do they donate to these “wealthy candidates” that just want a profile ?

  3. @deedeedragons – I wouldn’t be so sure. You only have to look at the last three Republicans that were elected – Reagan, Bush Snr, and Bush Jnr. None of them were Rhodes Scholars although Bush Snr wasn’t a complete moron, and Bush Jnr was elected twice! If enough people are turned against Obama or the Democrats, they would vote for a chimp if that is the only alternative.

  4. davis: “what is the third one meant to be though? Dept of Labor? National Endowment for the Arts?”

The 3rd one was supposed to be the Department of Energy apparently.

  5. We have another year of this before their elections next November! Well at least this gives the late night talk show plenty of material.

I think it could be close with Obama given the problems the US still has. Closer to home by the time our next election rolls around Julia might stand a chance at re-election, god help us all!

  6. The republicans are just getting worse and worse. They are going so bad that Sarah palin would be smarter than them and thats saying something.

But Fox and Friends will keep on pumping them up and saying how good a job they are doing.

  7. A brain freeze so devastating that it will cost him the Republican nomination. His credibility is shredded after this. Any candidate who suggests abolishing their equivalent of our Department of Education deserves to be treated with contempt.

  8. Rick Perry, keeping up the rich tradition of Texas Governors come Presidential candidates who aren’t big on the detail thing and that talking thing.
