  1. It’s an odd show. I honestly turned off the first episode about 20 or so minutes. Then after reading comments from the likes of “Charlie Brooker” over at The Guardian saying it becomes good, I made myself watch it. Then yeah a few episodes in, it totally sucks you in and I loved it!

It’s simultaneously features the best and the the worst, most cliche stuff on tv. It’s a weird mix. It did get better and better, and I thought the prequel managed to smooth over the weaker aspects that were becoming less frequent as season one went on.

So I have little doubt the second season will be better still. A show like this can only grow and get better as it has more success and hopefully more budget to play with. If you know the story, it really needs a bigger budget and a larger scope as it goes on. Although it already was damn expensive at over $4million US an episode.

    Great News!

There was a new trailer online in the past week as well.

It’s still sad about Andy, thoughts still go out to his family.

  2. Excellent news! I can now look forward to watching seasons 2 And 3 of Spartacus!

@ Armchair Analyst – I don’t think it’s likely that Kevin Sorbo will be appearing on Spartacus any time soon as there is a bit of bad blood between Sorbo and Rob Tapert, Lucy Lawless and others which probably wasn’t helped by some of Sorbo’s recent comments while spruiking his new autobiography.

Depending upon who you believe, Sorbo was offered an opportunity to play a role or “audition” to play a role on The Legend of the Seeker (another great Raimi/Tapert show that was cancelled after two seasons) and declined.

I *think* John Hannah has lined up an arc on Damages for the near future.

  3. Love this show, i have attempted to watch every episode since its debut. I am not surprised at its succes just look at Rob Tappert’s other shows of this genre Hercules: the legendary journeys, and Xena: warrior princes, they were all great shows back in the 90s. I will watch the second season for sure, Lucy Lawless still has it, i think this show really shows off her acting skill whereas in Xena she did more fighting then acting which wasnt bad but i think this show will build her credability as an first class actress. i personally would love it if Kevin Sorbo had a guest appearance as maybe a mayor of a rival town or something similar, obviously he wouldnt be able to play a gladiator or maybe one which was granted his freedom ages ago and was saught after by one of the main characters. Also what has happend to John Hanna
