13 Comments:

  1. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Castle’s ratings next week when they start airing new episodes on Tuesdays as well as Sundays, can’t be a bad thing to follow Rafters right? castletv.net/double-castle-for-australians

  2. I reckon Revenge will premiere with 1.3 mill before stabilising around episode three or four with 900k-1.1 million – it’s a good series but I don’t see it pulling Downton Abbey-type numbers

  3. It was an interesting night of television. I watched Seven and recorded TEN from 7:30pm. I have given up on Young Talent Time. The show just seems to be a remake gone wrong yet again. Its bland and boring.

I am really looking forward to Revenge tonight. Have heard so many great reviews about the show and would expect some big numbers.

  4. Secret Squirrel

@andrewb – not sure how you can be certain about something as inherently unpredictable as premiere audience numbers. I don’t think it will be close – I think Revenge will beat Alcatraz by 300k and won’t have any trouble getting over 1.5m.

But I’m certainly not convinced of my prescience.

  5. Homeland Ep 2 820,000 – unfortunately, Ten, by playing a double have effectively reduced the audience potential of this show each week.

It will be close tonight between Alcatraz and Revenge, which will most likley win the timeslot, but certainly won’t be 1.5 million tuning in.

  6. I reckon Revenge will rate well tonight, but I also reckon some people will be disappointed because of Seven’s ridiculous amount of hype. It’s a great show but Seven have taken too long to launch it

if people go in with an open mind, not expecting too much, they’ll probably find it a very entertaining series. But if they expect too much, it will disappoint

  7. Wow. Last night was a lot closer than i thought. Obviously Nine News gets high figures due to a cricket lead in. I personally hate Nine News. I don’t get its appeal. Seven isn’t much better either. They are both tabloid almost these days.

New Girl is still doing well and Sunday Night got a prop up thanks to Molly Meldrum i would think. Bones and Castle beat Homeland while Young Talent Time took a beating losing 300k week on week. The cricket does 300k less than i predicted. Overall it is a very close night of television between the big 3.

Tonight sees Revenge, Alcatraz and the 100th Episode of Big Bang Theory. Should be an interesting night of ratings coming up. Anything less than 1.5m for Revenge tonight and i will be surprised.
